Come cuddle with cats in Raleigh, NC

Introduction

Greetings cat lovers! My husband and I live just outside Raleigh, NC, and love to travel. We recently purchased a Winnebago travel trailer and have been exploring the NC and SC campsites with plans to expand our range soon. We have also been exploring further abroad to French Polynesia, South America, and Europe. So many places to experience! Our two cats can certainly get along without us but they miss the cuddles and playtime from their humans when we are gone. We are generally a pretty quiet group who enjoy reading and knitting by the fireplace, watching the birds at the feeders in the back garden, and chilling with movies and a cozy beverage when we are not cavorting around.

Home & location

Our house is in a rapidly-developing suburb of Raleigh, NC, approximately 20 minutes south of downtown. We have a couple high-quality local coffee shops just around the corner, in addition to the multiple shops and activities downtown. There is a shopping center within a 10-minute drive with stores like Target, TJ Maxx, Cabellas, and Best Buy, along with multiple restaurants. Our house has a dedicated guest room (with a memory foam mattress) and bath, an open-format kitchen/dining/living room, along with a bonus room. We converted what was supposed to be a formal dining room into a library with built-in bookshelves and a cozy chair. Our screened-in porch is a favorite with both humans and animals, especially on those 70 degree winter days! We have a variety of spaces to hang, both inside and out. In addition to a wide variety of books and backyard birds, entertainment options include: Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Hulu, Disney, and Discovery+. We also have old fashioned DVDs if you are into that type of thing. ;) Raleigh is a fast-developing city with tons of amazing restaurants and local shops, breweries, and distilleries; a farmers market that is open 7 days a week; and a practically unlimited number of parks and trails. We are about 40 minutes from Durham which includes yet another multitude of fun things to do. We will do all we can to make your stay at our home as comfortable and fun as possible. Everyone is different so, once you apply, we will chat more about what you enjoy doing and will do our best to make those things happen.

Amy and Dan are very hospitable and were well-prepared to have a sitter in their home. I was provided with everything I needed to take care of myself, the pets, and the home during my stay. Their home was clean and comfortable; it's located in a quiet and walkable subdivision in Garner (which is just outside of Raleigh). The cats were great and exactly as described. Maggie loves to be brushed and Oliver loves chin and neck scratches. Maggie is pretty chill, and Oliver is more the adventurer. He really likes to move around the house and watch the outside world through the window or on the screened patio. (It was pretty hot during my stay so if I didn't want him out too long, I found it easy to get him back inside). With Amy's instructions, they were both easy to care for.

Maggie and Oliver were a fun pair to sit. He was a gentle giant who liked to roam and keep an eye on you. Maggie was a chatty petite lady who followed you everywhere. Her favorite was to be brushed on her cheeks. Oliver would join in too! They really enjoyed being on the screened porch close to the very busy bird feeder. So many cardinal pairs! Amy and Dan were very pleasant and gracious hosts. They provided a thorough overview of their home and cats. They responded to any questions during the stay making everything enjoyable. Their nicely appointed home (they really did think of everything for their guest sitters!) was in a very quiet neighborhood. It took us about 30 minutes to get to central Raleigh which wasn’t a problem. We enjoyed being out of the bigger city and having with these two who were full of personality. We hope to stay again

Maggie and Oliver are so freaking adorable! I thoroughly enjoyed playing with and brushing them. Maggie is quite the chatterbox and Oliver loves going out in the screened in porch to observe his domain. It was very easy to administer Maggie's meds twice a day. Amy was very responsive to text messages and she and Dan left plenty of room in the refrigerator. Their home is clean, comfortable, and close to pretty much everything. I prefer to cook most of my own meals and their kitchen was well-appointed for doing that. I would definitely sit again and recommend to others.

Amy was a great communicator and her and her husband's house was clean and well organized. Oliver has such a funny personality and Maggie (I called her Mags) was so affectionate and loving. It was a great sit!

Kailynn and Marilyn were fantastic in every way. They provided just the right amount of updates, kept us posted on their travel plans, left our house in perfect order, and best of all, put up with our older girls medication and messes with more grace than I have been able to lately! Highly recommend!

Courtney and Michael were just perfect! They were friendly and easy to chat with and we felt immediately comfortable leaving our house and pets in their hands. They provided daily updates and left no trace - I'm pretty sure our house was cleaner when we got home than when we left! I'm super happy they are local as I will definitely be calling on them again.

Highly recommend Katy. Not only was our house immaculate when we returned from our 2-week trip, but we felt completely confident that she was taking the best care of our cats. She went way above and beyond to continue helping past the original dates when our international flight was delayed. She really helped make our trip stress-free.
