Lovely Home near Ocala, Florida with 2 sweet small senior dogs.
Introduction
My husband Robert and I have retired to Ocala, Florida from Colorado. This has been a good transition but it has taken us further away from my children. Three live in Colorado and three in Texas. We want to visit them on a regular bases but can’t also take our two fur babies with us. They have been boarded before but only for a few days. Mason is 12 and is a 20 lb. Schnau-Tuz and Toby is 10 and an 10 lb Pomeranian. They are sweet boys. We are looking for sitters who like to stay in our home and give them love and attention while enjoying beautiful Florida.

Our home is 15 months old. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bathroom home. We have satellite internet. We don’t have cable but all the great streaming apps like Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, etc. We have Alexa which allows for music streaming. We have recently added a lanai which is screened in, and is a lovely outdoor space to relax and enjoy the Florida weather. It is located in Marion Oaks in an area that is still being developed so the there are not a large amount of homes. It has a lot of woods/trees and green space. We love it because it is peaceful and we can walk our dogs without too much traffic. We have a very nice guest room with a queen size bed and a full bathroom just outside the bedroom door. Ocala is known as the Horse Capital of the World. There are many beautiful horse ranches. The World Equestrian Center is located within a short drive. Also, the Ocala area has many beautiful state parks and crystal clear springs. Ocala downtown is charming and has events and great restaurants. The Villages is about a 30 minute drive and offers 4 town squares with great restaurants and live music entertainment 7 nights a week. You will definitely need to have a car to get around. Walmart is about 6 miles from our home off of Hwy 200 and this road is loaded with many nice restaurants and businesses. Mason and Toby get up around 6:30-7:00am. I let them out first thing to potty and then feed them. Toby usually wants to go out again after he eats to go to potty again. I walk them in the morning depending on the weather. If the weather is bad they can wait until later. Mason usually does his duty call on his walk. I pick it up with doggie bags and throw it in the metal trash can left of the garage door. If you can find Toby’s in the back yard please pick it up with the poop scoop. Toby needs to wear a boy belt when he is in the house because he is a dominant marker. I feed them again around 4pm. They can have treats, especially if you decide to leave them awhile. Toby has only one tooth so all treats need to be broken up and he only eats wet food. Mason eats kibble with a tablespoon of wet. All instruction will be written down. Some plants may need watering before we return.

It was a delight sitting Toby and Mason for Franci and Robert. Both pups have great personalities, and are well behaved and friendly. They enjoy the backyard and taking walks in the neighborhood. Franci and Robert are very kind and gave very thorough instructions. The guest suite is very nice with a comfortable bed,TV and lots of storage. There are quite a few nature activities within 30 minutes of their home as well as shopping and dining. I highly recommend this sit and look forward to my return in August.

Franci and Robert were great, very responsive, instructions were very clear, and they have a very nice/comfortable home with a great backyard. She even invited me over the night before for a walk through, and to stay at the house. We went for dinner and just chatted it up like we were lifelong friends felt very comfortable. Mason and Toby were awesome. Toby will become your shadow as he appreciates attention and petting - and loves sitting on the couch and loves when it's time for a treat. Mason just chills and watches from a distance but loves to cuddle at nighttime and love his walks every day. I would highly recommend this sit and would accept any opportunity to sit again in the future.
