Bean (a senior dog) is looking for an experienced, friendly sitter
Introduction
Hello! I am a young professional from the U.S. living in Switzerland. I have a dog named Bean that I love very much who joined me in my European adventures. Bean has moved around a lot with me for the last 13 years and he is loving life in Switzerland! He is a big fan of the snow and walks by the lake. I travel frequently for work and personal reasons, and I am looking for an experienced sitter for Bean for the times I am away. Please note Bean is a senior dog who enjoys cuddles and walks, but also needs a sitter who is ok giving him medicine (pills). I used Trusted Housitters before the pandemic and it was always a great experience. Look forward to using it again!

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom cozy triplex in the heart of Lausanne. I live in the 2rd floor of a small building (only 4 units) with an amazing view of the Lausanne cathedral. The apartment includes WiFi, I work from home often so wifi is strong and reliable. The apartment is a triplex: 1st floor is the kitchen and living room, 2nd floor is the bathroom and bedroom, 3rd floor is a mezzanine. I also have a terrace (Bean is not allowed up there due to steep stairs, but happy for sitters to enjoy the view and fresh air). The apartment is in a fantastic location in the city center. I am near restaurants, bars, grocery stores, shopping and the historic city center. I am also 11 min away from Lake Geneva by metro. Even though I am in a central location the street I live on is pedestrian so no traffic nor car noises. The main street is busy with foot traffic but because my apartment faces a smaller street the noise is really minimal which is nice. The building has a secure entrance, but note there is no lift and the apartment is on the second floor. The neighbors are friendly and quiet. Because of the number of stairs I have indicated the apartment is not suitable for people with limited mobility. Note: I do not have a parking spot. A bit about Lausanne: Lausanne is the capital and largest city of the Swiss French speaking canton of Vaud. It is a hilly city situated on the shores of Lake Geneva. Initially a Celtic and Roman settlement, Lausanne became a town at the foot of Notre Dame, a cathedral built in the 12th century. In the 20th century, Lausanne became a focus of international sport, hosting the International Olympic Committee. It has recognized the city as the "Olympic Capital" since 1994.

Bean has to be fed three times a day and his water bowl should be full at all times. Bean has to be walked 4 times a day. In the morning between 8-10am for 15-20 minutes. The next walk is around noon or 13h for 15 min. The afternoon walk between 5-6:30pm for about 30 minutes and at night between 9-11pm for 10 minutes (just for a quick last pee). He needs to be kept on a leash at all times when outside the apartment. Other than that he is pretty calm, and he likes to sleep a lot. He likes to be petted and likes to play with his toys too. He tends to be scared of children and doesnt like when they run towards him (he barks) so I try to keep him away from small children. If he knows the children he is good though, he likes my friends children for example. Bean has had some health issues, he went through surgery to remove a cancerous tumor successfully. He has recovered well, but his health remains sensitive as he has a heart issue. This means he can’t go on long walks anymore and he needs to take medicine 2 times a day. For this reason I am looking for experienced sitters only, experience with senior dogs a plus! Bean is a sweet dog, but we are now more cautious of his health concerns.

Sitting Bean at Pamela's place was really nice! Pamela's apartment is clean, spacious, very organized and comfortable. It couldn't be better located on top of 3 supermarkets, restaurants, 2 blocks from the lake and 5 min to the train station. Central and very quiet (great windows!) and she let us use her parking spot which was great! Bean is well behaved and went for some day trips with us and we had fun together! He was also fine with staying alone for about ~5 hours, so we could go to beautiful Grindelwald. I would definitely sit Bean for Pamela again and I sure recommend it!

Pam’s apartment is super central, close to the lake, super clean and spacious! I would dog sit for Pam any day! We had such a great time with Bean in Vevey!

I had a very good housesitting with Pamela. She is nice and flexible. The house was very clean, the location, close to the lake, is ideal and Bean is easy to deal with. Many thanks!

Bean is such a love and really enjoys being outside. We spent a lot of time by the lake which is gorgeous and when we were inside we played, cuddled, or just hung out. He's an easy happy dog that just loves to be around humans. Pamela was really communicative and flexible with our travel schedule which was really great. She got back to us quickly when we had any questions.

This is the first time I have a house sit with the sitter traveling with her pet, I knew Mowgli was the kind of dog Bean gets along with and we had the dogs meet the day before so that made things smoother. Tejal and Mowgli were great guests. I was really happy to get from Tegal photos and videos of the two dogs, it was fun to see that Bean had made a buddy. Tejal was communicative and friendly and the house was spotless upon my return. I wish them both the best in their travels and would definitely recommend them for other sits.
