One cat in a chalet in a rural setting a mile and half from town and beach
Introduction
Hello, we are Amanda & Pete and we have been a couple for around 15 years. I am Cornish and Pete has moved down from Somerset. Pete is a proud grandfather of 4 so still spends a lot of time there visiting. We love to travel in our campervan when we get time. Unfortunately we still have to work though so we don’t get away as much as we’d like. Morris our cat adopted us about 12 years ago! He lived as a barn cat in the neighbouring farm but decided he wanted a bit more luxury! Hes getting older now and has become a cat that likes company a lot more than he ever used to. Hes a great character and sometimes forgets he’s over 14 years old. I don’t like to leave him for more than a few days anymore. We have a neighbour who is our best friend but he often joins us when we go away to music festivals which is one of our main hobbies. My dad lives at the top of the garden and helps out if we are all away for a short time. I also feed the foxes at the bottom of the garden every night plus the garden birds. We have lots of birds so if you love the sounds of bird cheeps then you’ll love it here!

Rustic chalet with modern touches. Set in a very quiet rural setting but with my dad and best friend as neighbours so you have people close by. Large south face private decking area and a large garden. Only a mile and half from town. It is possible to walk via fields and public foot path to get to town safely. The main road is not so safe for walking

To look after one slightly needy but weirdly independent older cat! Hes a bit of a character who has gone from being very independent to a cat who seems to like more and more company these days Daytime he’s absolutely fine and often will hang out in the garage especially if there’s no one around. Evenings he likes a bit of company but it’s not that you can’t go out! He’s absolutely fine but ideally it would be nice to have someone to sleep here and to be around on and off during the day or evening. There are timer feeders so if you are out and about exploring you can set the timers to pop up with his food. He’s not always so keen on males but once he’s used to them he’s generally fine.. Also to feed the wild birds regularly as I have lots of bird feeders and lots of wild birds who visit. Again in an ideal world I feed them morning and afternoon (in the summer it can be late afternoon) but again they will survive if you are busy exploring! The last thing is to put food out for the foxes every night at dusk or when it’s dark so the bigger birds don’t eat it! I leave that food already to go for each night so it’s literally just putting it out. It’s all very relaxed really this is just in ideal world. I realise it’s not always possible to do all this! My dad is generally about so if you got stuck he can feed Morris

I received a lovely warm welcome from Amanda's beautiful and personable cat, Morris and from Tony, Amanda's father, who kindly stepped in as Amanda and Pete were already away on their travels. Amanda however kept warmly in touch and had left me very helpful instructions and photographs. I particularly enjoyed Morris's company, whom, while appreciating fuss on his own terms, wanted increasingly more, even to the extent of lying as close as possible to me, at any opportunity. Amanda and Pete's home is charming and comfortable with all that I required and it was lovely to be surrounded by all the wildlife. Well situated in the countryside, their home was also conveniently close to the coast and shops. I had a most enjoyable stay and would be delighted to return. Many thanks.
