Pet Sitter needed for 1 Teacup Yorkshire Terrier and one big & lively Yorkie/Border Terrier cross!
Introduction
We are a couple in our early 70's, and have one little (but overweight) Yorkie girl, Daisy, and a bigger lively Yorkie/Border Terrier cross, Lily. They have free roam of the house and a cat flap so can come and go as they please. Jill is retired and Stewart is still working but is self-employed.

We are in a small village in the heart of Somerset between Street (for Clark's Village) and Somerton, within easy reach of Wells, Glastonbury, Cheddar and Wookey Hole. We are near to the seaside towns of Burnham-on-Sea and Weston Super Mare on the Bristol Channel, and close to the Dorset coast. The walks around the village are stunning. We have a Post Office in the village, but no shop. The nearest shops are in Street or Somerton (3 and 4 miles respectively) The house is a 2-storey bungalow of rustic design, and sitters will have their own upstairs bedroom and bathroom. There is a large back patio with a gazebo, large garden (not grassed), and a paddock to the side with our ducks. These need to fed and watered every day. We have all mod cons, including wifi and Sky TV (basic package). Mobiles will not work in most of the village, but will work in the house if you are on EE or have wifi calling.
Show more...Responsibilities
The dogs need to be fed twice a day - usually midday and at 10.30pm (both times can be changed to suit sitters arrangements/plans. They have no medical issues and all food is provided. They do not need to be walked unless the sitter wants to. They have a cat-flap, so are independent around the house and garden. A cleaner comes in every Wednesday morning for 3 hours. We have, at the moment, 14 ducks. These are in a paddock next to our house. They need to be shut up at sunset, and fed, watered and let out in the mornings. Apart from this, and generally keeping the dogs company, there are no other responsibilities.

I enjoyed a lovely week in Compton Dundon with sweet little Daisy & Lilly, both affectionate & loving doggies. Jill & Stewart welcomed me into their home and made me feel very comfortable. Warmest regards Tracey

We had a lovely time in Compton Dundon with Lily, Daisy and the ducks, communication with Jill was excellent, Daisy and Lily were utterly delightful, such characters and loved cuddles in the evening with Lily and she really enjoyed the little walks we took her on! Our first experience with ducks aswel so now we know a bit more of what to expect if in a similar situation in the future. All in all it was a wonderful week, thank you both and we would happily return! Highly recommend! ♥

We had a lovely time in Compton Dundon with Lily and Daisy. They are both adorable dogs with very different personalities. Lily is affectionate and loves chasing her toys, Daisy is an old lady with some hilarious idiosyncrasies - she’ll walk around in circles before deciding to do anything and won’t eat unless she thinks Lily is going to snatch her food! They were both well behaved when we took them out - Lily will put a paw on your shoulder while you’re driving telling you to take care/slow down which was super sweet! They managed just fine in a couple of pubs too. The ducks are no trouble and just need feeding and watering every morning, otherwise they’re self-sufficient paddling about in their enclosed paddock with pond. Jill and Stewart left detailed instructions for everything we needed, their home is spacious and very comfortable with good office space and reasonable wifi for those who need to work, as well as a cosy wood burner for evenings in. We would happily return.

This was a lovely housesit for us as the house was beautiful, comfortable and homely, and had everything you could possibly want, even the garden had a covered gazebo sitting area where we could dine…. and we did on several evenings. Jill and Stewart were very welcoming, good communicators and quickly showed us the ropes and left a detailed guide for us to refer to during our stay. Daisy and Lily were no trouble at all and were great company, they were well trained, obedient and affectionate – lovely pets, we miss them already. The ducks were easy to look after and would always come to the fence to greet us, probably looking for an extra feed! The village has a pub close by which serves excellent food especially the Sunday Roast Carvery which was delicious, generous and very reasonably priced. There were several public footpaths nearby around fields and up to a nature reserve with plenty of butterflies and birds, and this made it very safe to walk Lily. We would be very happy to return.
