URGENT SITTER NEEDED

Introduction

We are a retired couple(nursing & draughtsman)in our 60's, a couple of times a year we travel abroad and unable to take Molly with us. Otherwise we are in our campervan. I like to think we are pretty easy going and as long as Molly's needs are met, we are happy. We love animals and wildlife, so our location is perfect. We moved to our home in July 2017, to be nearer our daughter and family in Lenham. We have a son living in Devon with his wife and our grandson, where we try to visit as much as we can. We love living in the countryside and enjoy many walks through the surrounding area's, which gives Malcolm’s hobbies of photography and painting plenty of scope and inspiration. We love music and have down sized our vinyl collection, when we moved. We have good internet access, so mainly stream our music nowadays, that is when malcolm is not strumming his guitar. Although we have many walks to go on from the house, shopping or visiting the local area you need a car. MOLLY is now 13, she thinks she is a puppy. Probably 1 or 2 walks in the fields seem enough for her and depending on the weather. Molly is quite independent, she will follow you around the house. Housesitters are ideal for us, especially as molly has got older. She is very relaxed and calm indoor. Also her 'old bones' can be comfortable on her own bed as apposed to a kennel.

Home & location

Being near the M20 allows easy access to many coastal and historical attractions in Kent. A car is required for the short drive to local shops, cafes, pubs, etc. Our nearest village is Lenham (5min drive), we are probably mid-way between Maidstone and Ashford. We live in the hamlet of Platts Heath and have a 2 bedroom bungalow with a reasonable size garden and plenty of space to park a car. There is an endless number of walks. Including the North Downs, Pilgrims' Way nearby. We are so lucky to be surrounded by land now owned by Forestry England, which is developing the fields around the hamlet into a wildlife haven (we've even planted one of the trees).

Responsibilities

The main responsibility is to ensure Molly has her walks through the day. She is fed twice a day and has tablet medication in the morning for her joint pains. During the summer months, if dry we'd appreciate watering the garden. We also have indoor plants, which may need light watering. We have many wild birds in the area and have bird feeders to attract them to the garden. So you could top up the feeders to continue to enjoy their antics. An information pack will be available with information on things such as; the weekly bin collection, local amenities, and use of various appliances in the home. Molly does not mind being left for short periods, at night generally sleeps on her bed or sofa. She is a placid chilled dog, although she has set times for feeding and appears to get ‘hangry’ when feeding time is near!
