Two friendly staffies, rural setting near Glasgow
Introduction
We are David & Thomas, we live in Houston with our two staffies and love travelling. We have 3 trips planned for various dates and lengths this coming year, and we would love to have sitters for our two beloved dogs to be looked after in their own home. Hugo is 4 years old, and is very friendly and affectionate. He loves lots of attention, long walks and treats. He is also neutered. Harley is 2 years old and she still has a lot of young puppy energy. She is neutered too. As with all staffies they are both lively, exuberant dogs who love people more than other dogs!

5 bedroom detached house with large garden in quiet village of Houston. The house is adjacent to large open fields, which along with the surrounding rural area are great for dog walks. The village has two pubs, a coffee shop and a Co-op. 10 minutes from Glasgow Airport, 20 minutes by car to Glasgow city centre. Also 20 minutes to Loch Lomond National Park. We are also within a mile of the main Scottish cycle path network.

The dogs are fed twice daily (morning and evening). They are walked at least once a day. As they are still both young, they are active and require lots of playtime to wear them out! Both dogs are crate trained, and can be left alone at home for up to 6 hours. Plants would need watering once a week.

I’ve just had a fab time looking after Hugo & Harley in David’s & Thomas’ lovely home. H & H were so much fun and had me laughing everyday. They’re also both very loving and wanted lots of cuddles & snuggles which I was more than happy to provide. There are lots of lovely river walks right on the doorstep which was ideal. I felt so at home in this lovely house and had absolutely everything that I needed to make my stay a great one. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to see Hugo & Harley again.

We cared for David and Thomas’ beautiful home and their two Staffordshire Terriers Hugo and Harley for three weeks. The house was immaculately clean and everything very well organised for our arrival and stay throughout. David and Thomas were particularly welcoming, and were timely in all of our shared communications, both in the lead-up to, and throughout, the sit. Hugo and Harley quickly became two of our top dogs, as they’re both so loveable and full of good cheer and enthusiasm. They love to go out for good long walks and to fetch sticks in the (very) nearby river, but are also happy to play in the back garden or to snuggle up on the couch (or bed)! Hugo turned three years old during our stay, and Harley was just eight months old, and they love to hang out, play and sleep together. They also get on very well with other dogs, and love people as well. They’re good off the lead in open fields, by the river, etc. but also walk well on the lead so long as you’re confident walking strong dogs. Off the lead, they’re happy walking a bit ahead, but will also stop and wait, or return, if you call them; just be careful of their enthusiasm for wanting to jump on other passerby folk. They’re extremely good natured, and just want to greet everyone. They’re a joy to take out on walks, and we sorely miss them both, as they’d, straight away, become endearing dog friends. With regard to the local area, the neighbourhood is right next to a lovely river and amazingly remote-seeming woodland that’s perfect for walking the dogs, etc. Also, the surrounding countryside is beautiful, in all directions, particularly in the late spring and early summer when all is in bloom. There are also grocery shops that can be reached by foot (a local Co-op) or by car in nearby towns (4-5 miles away). In short, if you have the opportunity to house/pet-sit for David and Thomas, we’d heartily recommend you do so! We hope, too, to return in future.
