Dog sitter needed for our two retrievers in West Somerset

We are an active, retired professional couple in our seventies. We like walking, gardening and some volunteering. We need a sitter whilst we go away on holiday, primarily to look after our two retrievers.

On the edge of Stogumber, which is a lovely village in undulating country between the Quantock hills and Exmoor. It is superb for walking, although our 4 acre garden can provide good exercise in itself. The village centre is about 1/3 mile and includes a general store, pub and church. The coast is 5 miles away at Watchet. The towns of Taunton and Minehead are both about 30 minutes drive. The guest bedroom has its own en suite shower room which was recently refurbished. A bath is available in another bathroom . We usually provide two single beds but can make it into a large double if desired.

Look after our two retrievers and take them for walks. They are fed morning and evening, and are happy to be left for a few hours during the day. We'd also like you to water a few plants in pots in the greenhouse and outside.

We enjoyed looking after Calli and Ruby , they are really warm affectionate dogs . The grounds at the cottage are beautiful and there are walks around the villiage too . Pauleen & Michael

John and Elaine have a lovely house in lovely countryside. They were very welcoming and hospitable and we loved staying there. The dogs are great - well behaved and affectionate; the greatest danger we had was being bruised by their wagging tails! If we left them for a while, on our return an hour later you might have thought we were their best friends and they hadn't seen us for a year! Highly recommended. Thank you for a great stay.

Looked after Ruby and Calli for two weeks and grew very fond of them....these dogs do have a habit of making you feel you're their best friends ever! House in a lovely situation in West Somerset with plenty of great places to visit. All in all a very enjoyable housesit and one to recommend.

John
Geoff and Jenny looked after our two flat-coated retrievers for two weeks while we were on holiday. They came for a pre-visit to meet us and our dogs, and to make sure that they could park their motor home in our drive. This gave both of us confidence in the sit. As expected, everything went very smoothly. They looked after the dogs very well - 3 walks a day, clearing up half-digested rabbits, etc. The house was clean and tidy when we returned. We have no hesitation in highly recommending them.
