Cozy, Colorful Accommodations and Two Cute Cats for a fun time in Maine.
Introduction
I am a colorful artist with my art studio inside my house. I also love to work in my gardens, designing attractive flower beds. My husband, John, is a VP of Sales in a national spice company and has an office at our house. We both love to do home improvement projects and we have plenty of them in our beautiful and unique Maine house. We also like to go boating, throw parties, visit with family and travel. We adopted our two cats, at different times, at a humane society. They love their life with us because they get a lot of love, freedom and treats. My children are grown so these two cats are my babies!

The house is a unique Maine home. The original house was a cape built in 1716, in 1863 a Victorian style addition was added, and in 2000 the kitchen was enlarged, the house was connected to the garage and an in-law apartment was added. We have made many improvements to the property since we purchased it in 2019. We have turned the in-law apartment into it’s own separate space which we rent out with AirBNB. I am a 5 star Super host with AirBNB! You will be staying in the lovely apartment, we call “Golden Pines Guest Suite” (you can view it on the AirBNB website and see my reviews). Although you will be staying in the guest suite, you will still have access to the main house where my two cats will stay. Also we are on an acre lot, which is beautifully landscaped with many seating areas (the guest suite has a private seating area, as well). Neighbors are close by, but not too close. Portland Maine is less than 15 minutes to the south and Freeport Maine (you know LLBean) is less than 15 minutes to the north. It is a perfect location to have a Maine adventure, as you are loving my two cats.

You will be caring (feeding, refilling water, letting in and out, scooping kitty litter, playing with, etc.) for two indoor/outdoor cats, Moby and MeeMee. Moby is an experienced hunter and does wander off the property to hunt. He does go out at night but we get him in (usually walking around the outside of the house, yelling his name) before we go to bed. He does not stay out all night. You can have the cats stay with you in the guest suite but I wouldn’t recommend that because Moby will wake you up to go out at 3am to go out! So the cats can sleep in the main house. I will have the kitty litter set up near the outside kitchen door, so they can use that at night, if needed. Now for MeeMee, my little girl. She goes in and out all day but only in the daylight, not at night. She doesn’t stray far from the property. She is not a hunter. If I am going to leave the house, I always want her inside. Moby, on the hand, can be outside if I am not at home. They are great cats and very loving.

This was honestly my favorite sit I've done to date - Sandra's house was gorgeous and immaculate, the beds were extremely comfy, and the location really can't be beat. The cats were sweet and easy to care for - though I will say that this sit is likely better suited to a night owl, as they are indoor/outdoor cats, and Moby does enjoy staying out hunting critters until as late as midnight on occasion 😂 Honestly, their schedule fit into mine absolutely perfectly, as I tend to stay up until 12-1a most nights, so I have zero complaints, 11/10 would stay again!

Moby & MeeMee are beautiful cats, that were a treasure to be with. They are very self sufficient, and easy to care for. MeeMee is quite affectionate, and Moby brings home a present every night. Our hosts’ home, is a stunning, yet comfortable, centrally located historic house. It is well appointed, beautifully decorated by the in house artist,made our stay memorable. We would strongly recommend this home to any prospective house sitter.

Wonderful experience with a gracious and organized host, two fun indoor/outdoor cats, and a bright, private, and spacious suite within the historic home. It is easy to reach coastal parks and lively Portland for short outings when you are not home caring for and enjoying the kitties.
