Sitter needed for super cuddly house cat Gracie in the Scottish Highlands
Introduction
Hello! We are Non and Dave from North Wales and Yorkshire, we currently live in Fort William in the Scottish Highlands! We're very outdoorsy and like to go on lots of adventures climbing, cycling, canoeing - anything really! We had plenty of sitters for our cat back in Wales but being new to the area we need some reliable sitters for our beautiful house cat Grace - she's a ragdoll who likes lots of fuss and attention. We keep her safe indoors so she needs some play time and someone who's happy to scoop the poop!

We have a bungalow with an open plan kitchen/ diner and a large living room with a TV/netflix and a comfy reading chair with plenty of books. We have a big fridge freezer and all the usual kitchen appliances. The house is a bungalow which overlooks a loch and the hills - very beautiful. Sitters will stay in our second bedroom, it has a double bed which will be made up with bedding. There's a built in wardrobe, a dresser and a rocking chair. We also have and office with a desk/chair/printer for home workers to use. You could also put a blow up bed/cot in here if you have children. (Bed/bedding not provided by us for this). There's an endless list of things to do! You can go on a wildlife cruise, tackle Ben nevis, see the Glenfinnan viaduct, eat fresh seafood - so many options on your doorstep!
Show more...Responsibilities
Gracie is fairly low maintenance - the main job is cleaning her litter tray! This needs doing at least first thing in the morning and last thing and night and possibly once or twice in between- she does like it to be clean! We use clumping litter so it's easy to scoop out the mess and put it in a poo bag and into the outside bin. She only eats dry biscuits so we just keep these topped up. She has a water fountain which also will need topping up and cleaning every 2 weeks on longer sits. If you can water plants while you're here that would be great- but they generally seem to survive on neglect!

I really enjoyed my stay in Non's home and would definitely recommend this house/pet sit. I met with Non before she left for her holiday, so she was able to tell me about the local area, show me around, and introduce me to the lovely Gracie. Gracie is really easy to care for. She took a few hours to weigh me up and then decided that I would be allowed to stroke, groom, and generally look after her, and we were friends. She often followed me around, even to the loo ! It was also lovely when I came back from exploring the area to have Gracie come running to greet me at the door. She did do what I assumed was a protest poo just outside the litter box on the first day, but after that, she was really good at using it. There are some lovely walks from the doorstep. It's a fabulous place to visit. I would definitely visit again.

Our sit in Fort William was one of our best sit.We really appreciated the communication with Naomi which was clear and simple. Too bad we didn’t have the opportunity to meet but we had two video sessions. Gracie is such a social cat, she talks a lot and let you know her opinion. She is a lap cat, every afternoon we had our lap session, our brushing session and our play session. She has her habits. She is not a shy cat at all. The only problem with Gracie is her toilet habits, she often poo on the floor near the litter. I don’t know if it is because she is anxious but Naomi tried many things and she still has this habit. It is not a big deal but sitter should be aware. The sit is extraordinary for hikers. There are mountains all over, it is the hikers paradise and the nature is beautiful. The house is very comfortable with a beautiful view on the mountain and on the loch. Naomi we thank you for this opportunity to discover Scotland, Fort William and Gracie. Danielle et Françoys

We had a lovely time staying at Non and Dave’s home in Fort William. From the moment we arrived, communication was seamless, and we were warmly welcomed. Gracie, their adorable cat, was such a sweetheart - easy to care for and always up for cuddles. The location of their home was simply breathtaking, adding to the charm of our visit. We're already missing Gracie 💞

Non was super easy to communicate with, right from the start and we stayed in touch before the sit which made things nice and easy and obviously all throughout the sit too. We briefly crossed paths as we arrived which was lovely. Gracie Kelly is such a wee cutie, who loves her foil ball like no other. She’s really good at sitting on the cat tower hitting it back to you to throw over and over. We played this basically every day. She also enjoys her wind up rat toy a lot. She snoozes a lot and liked to be in the office with Johnathan when he was doing things on the laptop. Some nights she would join us on the couch for cuddles. She’ll let you know when she’s had enough, and lay in her radiator bed. She’s really easy to care for, just keeping the cookies topped up, water fresh and keeping her litter boxes as clean as possible. Fort William is a lovely little township - we were lucky here as we have have a sibling in town so it was nice to spend time together. It was wet for over half our stay so we didn’t do too much exploring. Cow Hill behind the house is lovely for some nature walks, so is a stroll along the Loch. Everyone is super lovely in all the shops too. We mostly walked which was about 35 mins down the hill and 40+ back up the hill. If you have a car a day trip down to Oban is lovely and other places too. There’s access to a Tesco express, large Morrinsons, Lidl, Aldi and M&S Food. Thank you for having us for our longest sit yet Tach and Johnathan
