Tranquil Te Puna, in the wonderful Bay of Plenty.
Introduction
Hi, its Kathy and Tom here. Fairly quiet living but busy people who spend our time between Auckland and Te Puna (Tauranga area). Work and business keep us in Auckland, and our family keeps our hearts firmly rooted in Te Puna. We have the opportunity to travel to France in July-August with my daughter and husband, and their baby girl, to visit his family. Then we head off and 'do our own thing' travelling around France for another couple of weeks - first holiday we have managed in over 5 years, so definitely looking forward to it! We have a 5 year old border collie, Rosie, and an extremely timid 8 year old cat, Bella, who would love someone very caring to look after them either in Auckland or Te Puna (bestest choice!) from about 20 July to 1 September. Our place in Te Puna is perfect for those who enjoy the sea, evening sunsets over the harbour, the cafe lifestyle of Tauranga-Mt Maunganui, and of course, the glorious beaches (only if you take Rosie with you!).

We have a warm, cosy house overlooking the inner Te Puna estuary. Currently have several renovation projects on the go, but mainly outside (painting house, landscaping etc). Glorious views, especially as the sun goes down over the hills in the distance. You will have use of a spacious ground floor double bedroom-ensuite. The house is very warm, and has a wood fireplace and heat pump, gardens and direct access to the Te Puna reserve, beach and boat ramp. We enjoy a small local community with plenty of dog-lovers who are all very familiar with Rosie! There are great walking/cycling tracks nearby. The estuary and inner harbour are excellent for paddleboarding, swimming, jet-skiing, fishing etc. There is a 10 mins drive to nearest towns - north to Omokoroa or south to Bethlehem, 15 mins to Tauranga and about 20 mins to Mount Maunganui.

Rosie is a happy people loving dog who will follow you around and keep you company. She is a typical collie so can be a bit OCD when it comes to running along the fenceline when other dogs walk past - something which I discourage (bring her indoors). She loves walks, eating bones, friendly with most other dogs albeit a bit nervous around strange large dogs. She is fed in the evening, and enjoys a bone during the day. She is our daytime pet. Bella, our cat, is extremely timid and comes in at night time (nervous of the dog) once Rosie has gone to bed. She has her dinner, and then nibbles on kibble throughout the night, and quietly scuttles out the window when she knows you're going to let Rosie out! We have a large vegie garden which you are welcome to enjoy, and would welcome any care and attention you would like to bestow on it! Being winter, it wont need watering, but if you enjoy weeding, that would be a welcome bonus for us.
