Introduction
Hi, potential house sitters! Colin and I are both medical doctors and have been married for almost 35 years. We have three grown up children, two of whom live away from home. We love animals and the outdoors and travelling and have an almost 5 year old Great Dane. Sadly our beautiful Siamese cat Hugo died last winter. We were devastated, but we later brought Joy into our life . A gorgeous mix of Scottish fold and ragdoll! She’s very relaxed happy character! She will be one year next month. She’s very friendly and good with Flora. She’s an indoor cat so it’s essential she doesn’t escape from the house. Although Irish by birth we have lived on the outskirts of Glasgow for many years and love the balance of being a 20 min drive to the city centre, yet less than 40 mins from Loch Lomond and the coast! We are just over an hours drive from Edinburgh and there are regular train and bus services between Glasgow and Edinburgh as well. Our house is on the edge of the countryside and we enjoy beautiful views all year around. We had thought about a house sitter for many years but never got around to it, and now as our regular person who boarded our dogs, cant take them anymore, we thought it would be a good time to try house sitters. Also we cant bear the thought of our precious pets having to go into kennels /cattery as they have such a spoiled comfortable existence ! We managed to get away last year for two weeks thanks to Jennifer who we met through this company and we remain friends,She is returning to cover a break later in the year but can’t do this week at end of July/early August. We look forward to meeting more animal lovers who want to spend time with our lovely pets and enjoy exploring different parts of the world.

We love our detached home on the outskirts of Bearsden which is @30 mins to the amazing city of Glasgow with its fantastic arts and cultural activities, great shopping and friendly people. We are @ same distance to Loch Lomond and stunning Scottish scenery and the coast. Our home has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms ( one ensuite) and a large garden with lovely views. We have a bus stop and local shops and coffee shops within a few minutes walk with the villages of Bearsden and Milngavie a few minutes drive. Train stations at both Bearsden and Milngavie are @35 min walk but @10mins drive . We have wonderful walking nearby with Mugdock Country Park, the West Highland Way and Loch Lomond and water sports all nearby. We are approximately an hour from Edinburgh ( very useful for the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe world renowned festivals every August) with frequent train services from Glasgow. It takes around 40-50 Minutes to reach some amazing beaches and seaside towns. The possibilities are endless for a wonderful holiday !

Hi. We are delighted you are considering to house sit for us. Our dog loves her routine and sleep! She usually sleeps in morning, have a walk early afternoon ( or evening if weather too warm) and need two meals a day- the first being after their walk and second later in evening . No need for long walks -30-40 minutes is fine . She usually naps all afternoon post walk and lunch … usually on our bed! ..Flora has very good bladder control and can last 5 hours or more especially if it’s raining! She can use the decking for sunbathing , toileting etc but need some supervision as Flora could jump over the fence if she saw a fox or deer( often in garden)! She is not allowed out in garden without being on a lead !! We can leave her at home for Max of @5 hours if they have had their walk. Our cat Hugo usually sticks to his mum Heather’s bedroom and needs 4 meals a day but can be spaced out to allow for a trip out of house. He is an indoor cat and can’t be allowed out. He is very friendly and vocal and loves to play fetch ! He enjoys Flora s company in ‘ his ‘room but is more nervous when he leaves his own territory. He will clean Floras ears while she sleeps in the bed etc. Hugo needs a lot of human contact but sleeps up to 17 hours a day!!

Deirdre , Colin and their daughter Heather are an amazing family . Went above and beyond and were incredible hosts . They live in the most beautiful part of the world .. really stunning . Flora I fell in love with straight away , a real gentle giant and an absolute sweetheart even when she takes over the whole bed 😂Mr Hugo was chatty , loved a cuddle and a play , loved him from the start as well . The family I can call friends now and can’t wait to go back when I can to look after their gorgeous pets .
