Stay with Lucy the Golden in beautiful London terrace with large private garden
Introduction
Hello, I’m a thirty something Australian living in London with my golden retriever, Lucy. I’m looking for someone who loves goldens to take care of Luce from time to time when I’m travelling. I’m ideally looking for an individual or couple who live in or near London who would be interested in multiple sits so Lucy can get to know them. Lucy is still quite young and varies between being a ball of playfulness and a bit of a nervous nelly. She absolutely loves people and is very affectionate - she’s very relaxed inside and is happy to curl up and snooze or play quietly with her toys when she’s in the house but she also loves playing in the backyard (much less quietly and with a regrettable amount of digging and fox chasing…) and is an excellent ball finder (not such an excellent ball returner). She’s a bit apprehensive around traffic so walks can be a challenge for her - she’s becoming more confident over time but it’s a work in progress so she needs someone who is kind and patient.

My one bedroom + study 80sqm apartment is set over the lower ground and upper ground floors of a recently renovated London terrace house with a big private garden in beautiful De Beauvoir Town. De Beauvoir is a leafy part of central London with lots of great cafes, pubs and wine bars tucked here and there only a few mins walk away from the house, and it is also super close to Shoreditch, Angel and London Fields (all around 20-30 mins walk / 10 min bus or cycle). The house has a large bedroom overlooking the garden, a modern bathroom and light filled sitting room / study upstairs (perfect if you are looking to work at all) and downstairs you’ll find an open plan kitchen / dining / living area leading onto the private garden, plus second shower room (good for muddy dog rinses) and a washer drier.

Lucy needs to be fed twice per day, once in the morning and once in the evening. For exercise, she needs a bit of time playing fetch in the garden and a 45-60 min walk each day. Lucy can be left alone inside for up to 4 hours so long as she gets the above exercise and lots of love either side of that. She sleeps downstairs in the living area. If you work during the week that’s fine - she can go to daycare as long as I know in advance. Other than that, please just keep the house tidy, give her lots of pats and enjoy! :) PS I am ideally looking for a couple or individual who live(s) in London or close by who might be interested in multiple sits so Lucy gets to know them a little.

Looking after Lucy and Prudence’s wonderful home was wonderful! The house was immaculate, excellently located and had everything that you might need. Prue’s comms were great both in the lead up and during the sit. She was even as kind to leave a bottle of wine as a thank you. Lucy is one gorgeous dog - very friendly and affectionate. She was a little anxious on our walks at first but her confidence grew as the week went by. I thoroughly enjoyed her company. Would love to look after Lucy again in future!

My experience dogsitting for Prudence and her adorable pup Lucy was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived at Prudence's sunny and welcoming home, I felt at ease and excited to care for her beloved compañera Lucy. Prudence is a wonderful, organized, kind and friendly host who provided me with a helpful, comprehensive home-pet manual prior to the sit. I felt prepared with all the information necessary to keep Lucy confortable, happy and healthy during Prudence's trip. She was always readily available to answer any questions i had, which was very kind. Gorgeous Lucy is a delightful pup who quickly stole my heart with her affectionate personality and playful nature. She's a sweet snuggler, and always ready for playtime and a stroll. She's an excellent tour guide, is friendly and sweet with all pups and people we encountered on our walkies. She's a real cutie and got many compliments everywhere we went. Prudence's home is located in a convenient and well-connected residential neighborhood, just a short 8-minute walk from the tube station. Ideally located, her home is a short walk to several parks, a trendy high street with many charming cafes/restaurants, grocery stores and shops. Her bright, spacious home is beautifully decorated and peaceful. There's even a lovely garden to enjoy a meal, good book or relax in. Thank you Dear Prudence for sharing your beautiful, cosy home, for the sweet gift and for sharing your Gorgeous Lucy with me. I wholeheartedly recommend caring for Lucy and would love to care for her again in the near future.

I sat for Prudence twice in February 2023, and it couldn't have been a better experience! Her pup Lucy was a delight and Prudence was amazing in making sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable. Would certainly recommend!
