House with Sea views and a lovely looking cat, both need to be looked after.
Introduction
We are a retired professional couple who travel a lot and are very concerned with security. Previous to retirement we were employed in Policing and the Hospitality industry. We are very considerate and respectful of others in our peaceful and residential neighbourhood. We are non smokers. We have both been triple vaccinated and had a boosters. We both have a love of animals and have taken on previous rescues cats. We are looking for a cat lover to care for our most recent rescue cat.. He is a very beautiful looking cat ... Foxy. Sadly he has been badly abused and is very wary, particularly of feet and can not be picked up or handled. he only has three legs. He does allow the occasional scratch under his chin and behind his ear... on his terms. We also have a large pond containing 3 very large Koi and probably 100s of gold fish !!

We have a large detached house in Portmellon, with balcony and a large enclosed and private garden, close to a beautiful beach and with views of the sea. It is about 3/4 mile from Mevagissey village, approx 3 miles from Heligan . Own transport is essential. We have an en suite guest bedroom,, on a different level from the main reception area.

We want someone to take great care of our very pretty but unpredictable cat He loves and needs to be around people, seeking some reassurance. However he does not like to be handled and does not cope well with children. We also have a numerous fish in a large outdoor fish pond, which need feeding during summer months and very warm winter days . Obviously it is also important to keep our home safe, well maintained and tidy.

This has to be one of our favourite cat sits. Geoff and Hazel are lovely hosts and cooked us a lovely meal when we arrived. Foxy the cat was adorable and really friendly. He would come and lie down next to us wherever we were sitting. We loved playing with him with his ball in the tube, batting it backwards and forwards. For a cat with three legs, he could run very fast when he wanted to. We had a lovely bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The house is immaculate and very large and only 5 minutes walk to Portmellon beach with cafe and pub. The walk to Mevigissey is very steep but well worth it….plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Beautiful walks along the coastal paths with deserted beaches. We hope to come back next year. Hazel and Geoff made us really welcome and cooked a lovely meal on the day I arrived, of which I also enjoyed the left overs for the next couple of days (unfortunately Meena was delayed a few days due to family bereavement). The house is set over two levels and is absolutely lovely in a lovely area of Cornwall. Portmellon has its own sandy beach around 300m from the house although we were not there at a suitable time to enjoy it. Foxy the 3 legged rescue cat is an absolute fluffball who requires both time and patience to get to know and trust you but he is very easy to look after. Also the fish pond is easy to maintain with feeding just once a day and the occasional top up with water. Even though the weather wasn't brilliant whilst we were there, we enjoyed our time and our trips into Mevagissey. All in all a very enjoyable sit and we hope that we can look after Foxy again sometime in the future.

Hazel and Geoff were very friendly and welcoming and responded promptly to any queries before and during the sit. They gave us a delicious dinner when we arrived at their very comfortable house. Foxy was extremely sweet and enjoyed his head rubs and chicken treats. It broke our hearts to hear about his bad start in life but it was great to see him so happy and loved now. We enjoyed the opportunity to explore Mevagissey and the surrounding area.
