Beautiful location in the South of France with two awesome dogs
Introduction
We recently relocated from the US, and now live in a modern house in a small village in the Provence-Alps-Cote d'Azur region of France. Our home is in a very quiet area, but close enough for walks within the village or to get to public transportation. The house is a great landing place if you are looking to explore Southern France, or can provide a nice place for rest and relaxation if you want to stay in the area. We have a pool that will be open in the warmer months, and are within a couple hours drive of many beautiful places in the region. We love our time at home but also love to travel and spend time with our family who live in other parts of the world. We want to make sure our great dogs have someone to stay with them when we have to be gone. We have two dogs, Deacon (12) and May (7) who are both collie mixes. They both love people, playing, and generally getting attention. Our house has two large fenced yards with beautiful views of the mountains, and a pool to enjoy during the warmer months. We are within walking distance to our small town's center where you can access essential shops and public transportation. Our house and the local area are a great place to relax and unwind, while still being close to many attractions within the south of France. The house itself has a great open living area on the main floor, with beautiful outdoor space for relaxing or dining. We have a dedicated guest area off the living room with private bedroom (queen size bed) and bathroom to accommodate our sitters. We are just 15 minutes outside of Manosque, which is home to a beautiful central village, along with great shopping, parks, wineries and more. Our home is also only an hour or two away from many other beautiful beaches, hikes, and cities within France. Beautiful Provençal villages less than an hour away include Sisteron, Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon, and Aix-en-Provence. Within two hours you can get to many beaches and popular cities along the Mediterranean, including Cannes, Nice, Saint Tropez and Toulon just to name a few!

We are looking for someone stay at our house when we are away to feed, walk, and let out our dogs. The dogs each eat twice a day, enjoy at least a quick walk, and love the company of people and want to be near someone at night. While a short walk will suit them just fine, they both love long walks and hikes if you are looking to explore the area and want to take them along. They are good by themselves in the house and can be left alone during the day if needed, up to about seven or eight hours. We have a large fenced yard they can play and run around in, and there are nice trails nearby to walk them on.

Thank you to Kersti and Mat for making our stay so pleasant. Their pups Deacon and May were great companions throughout the day. We walked to the park and into DeWitt a couple times a day, took day naps and played out back. The upper deck provided a perfect location for a morning cup of coffee and the cool lower deck in the heat of the afternoon. A couple nice trips to nearby Lansing to visit breweries and Horrocks. Everything was perfect. Our guest area was clean and comfortable. Walkability is great with restaurants, ice cream, breweries and gift stores. Very sweet pups!

Kersti and Matt have a lovely home on the river (which was far too cold for me to get in!!), and the dogs are wonderful. Deacon is a chatty little sweetheart who always wants to play, we had lots of time to work out which toys were his fav! May is very affectionate and wants nothing more than to cuddle up next to you on the sofa all the time. Shes also a bed hog! Both sweet and well behaved, and very easy to look after. The location is great - I didn't go out a lot, just a couple of half day trips - shopping in the amazing local farm market mainly(!), but the dogs didn't mind being left for a few hours. I'd recommend this sit to anyone who doesn't mind the cold in winter! Can't speak for the summertime I'm sure its amazing then too.

Kersti and Mat were really great hosts! They're super-well organized and great communicators. They've done a great job renovating their home - we were amazed at how little design ideas in the kitchen make it very functional (and help humans avoid collisions when more than one of them is in there at a time). Awesome job, well done! They have a comfortable, functional home that is uncluttered. We enjoyed being there! Their pups, Deacon and May are so lovable. They're obedient, affectionate, and are great walkers. They're the perfect size dogs that enjoy their walks and playing outside, but also enjoy just chilling out close to where you are. We wanted to take them with us when we left! DeWitt is a great little town. Its quiet enough to walk the streets, and close enough to East Lansing (University town), and Lansing (State capital), so there's plenty of activities to choose from. People are friendly - we met Kersti and Mat's neighbor, Bob, who took us under his wing and was helpful with information about local football games. Our stay was just too short, just a weekend, but we really enjoyed it and would love to return!

Enjoyed meeting Kersti & Matt, friendly, making sure I was comfortable. Very thorough information. Deacon & May are exceptional, very loving companions. They even let me have a small spot on the bed! Cuties, definitely. Great walks to quaint friendly downtown area. Loved my time with them

We loved sitting for Deacon and May. They are both super smart and well behaved. It is extremely obvious that they both have had lots of training. Deacon especially is great on leash. We had no issues with them at all and loved playing with them in the river and huge backyard. Thanks so much for having us.

Allen house and dog sat for us for just over a month while we were away visiting family. He is very organized and had excellent communication both prior to and during our trip. He was thoughtful and asked what kind of communication we liked while away, and then stuck to that, sending us photos and regular updates. Our dogs were absolutely spoiled with attention and twice a day walks so they truly got to have a vacation while we did too. Our house was incredibly clean when we got home and to top it all off Allen had some great recommendations for us for things to see and places to eat (we’re still newer to the area so greatly benefit from his exploration!). We hope Allen and Leslie will be able to sit for us again in the future and would absolutely recommend them to others.
