A loving family dog in rural Hertfordshire

Introduction

We are a young adventurous family with two young daughters and two loving dogs. (But only one will be at home to look after) Zuma, a German Shorthaired Pointer, she is 2yo. She’s very smart and extremely affectionate, whose favourite thing is to cuddle ❤️. We are looking for a reliable sitter who feels at home in our home, and who will love our dog like we do.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Becky’s lovely house which was in a beautiful countryside location. Becky left clear instructions for the care of Inca who we had the pleasure of looking after on previous occasions. Inca is getting on in years but still enjoyed her short walks. We would be very happy to house sit again if asked.

My Wife and I had a wonderful and relaxed stay in Therfield. The dogs were so well behaved and we really enjoyed the beautiful countyside walks on the doorstep. Becky was so generous to leave us food etc and we are very grateful to her for that. Her home is very comfortable and the location is perfect. We miss the dogs so much already...thank you Becky, Simon, Amber and Bella....and of course beautiful Zuma and Inca

Our sit for Becky, in her beautiful thatched cottage with its lovely garden in the quaint village of Therfield, was an extremely enjoyable one. Becky was very welcoming and gave us a good tour around her lovely home before she departed, to show us where we could find everything; as well as taking the time to prepare some helpful notes to refer to, if needed. Zuma came to greet us at the gate, and we were immediately smitten, as she is such an affectionate and loving creature, and rewarded us for all the walks and games with plenty of cuddles in return. She had a lovely way with other dogs we encountered on walks, too - always displaying her friendly and gentle nature. Another bonus was the plentiful choice of footpaths in all directions from the doorstep - and even more within a very short drive away - which we did on one of the days, and Zuma travelled very well in the car. We would rate very highly, our sit for Becky, and would love to spend more time with Zuma, if another opportunity arose in the future.

We had a lovely stay in Therfield looking after Zuma whom we really bonded with. Zuma was well behaved, cuddly and liked a fuss. She enjoyed a walk and had great recall when off the lead. We miss her already! Becky’s communication was great before, during and after the sit. She was even kind enough to stock the fridge full of food for us which we really appreciated. Becky’s home is stunning with everything you could need, there’s a good pub in the village and it’s only a short drive (or an hour walk) to Royston which has lots of shops and cafes.

Becky was wonderful to sit for. She was extremely hospitable, left loads of information to help and her house is absolutely lovely. The dogs were lovely company and each have really nice, individual personalities. The only issue I had was that they had a naughty streak. Becky warned me that the dogs got up on the sides, but I wasn't quite prepared for just how bad it was. The dogs would chew and destroy ANYTHING. It felt like they needed constant supervision and I couldn't even pop to the loo without finding them up on the sides or in the pantry! I imagine it would've been easier with a second pair of eyes, but i wasnt quite prepared for the amount of items they got at and tore up during my stay.
