3 Dachshunds in the heart of Perthshire, Scotland

Hi, my husband works for H M Forces and I'm an upholstery tutor, we have 3 grown up children who used to take it in turns to house and dog sit for us, however with growing families of their own they can no longer commit. We both have motorbikes and enjoy weekends away with friends touring Scotland. Perth and Perthshire is a beautiful part of Scotland with fabulous scenery and gateway to the highlands

We live in an area known as Oakbank which is a suburb of the fair city of Perth in central Scotland. The area is well served by local transport, buses are very frequent, the train station is 10 mins away by taxi, 30 mins walking. Trains travel directly to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Inverness & Aberdeen. Perth city has the river Tay running through it, plenty of parks and walks, a museum, art galleries, independent shops and a vast selection of restaurants, cafes & pubs catering for every taste. There is a pub 5 mins walk from the house which serves local food and drink. The swimming pool and leisure centre including an ice rink is a 20 minute walk away, the theatre, concert hall and cinema are each approximately 35 mins walk. Although a car isn't required there are several car hire companies within Perth for a more convenient way to explore the area. Our home is a typical Scottish detached villa, offering a good range of rooms. We have a front and back garden, the back garden has a summer house and both gardens have plenty of sitting out areas, with no lawn - so grass cutting required.

The 3 dogs all sleep in the utility room and require letting out in the garden at 6.00 am. Bentley, Dax & Georgia go for a walk for approx 45 mins, less if the weather is too warm (and not at all in the case of Bentley if its raining!) They are then given a biscuit. They have their meal approx 3.30 - 4pm and a second walk around 6pm, later if weather is too warm. House responsibilities, the bins will need to be put out, 1 a week, we will inform you of the sequence depending on the dates, hanging baskets and tubs need to be watered.

Susan and her husband are extremely kind people with huge hearts. They take good care of their sitters and go above and beyond. They were very good with communication and directions with the dogs and the house. The dogs were so easy and love snuggles. I fell in love with all 3 of them. The dogs love walks and there are so many great places to go in the neighborhood. They are very well behaved and a lot of fun. Susan and her Husband were very helpful with showing me around town and gave me bus schedules and how to access transport. They honestly made me feel right at home. This was my favorite housesit that I have ever done and I hope to stay in touch with them because they are such lovely people. Their home is beautiful and very cozy too!

We had such a fantastic time sitting for Sue and Colin! They are so welcoming and fun, it really was like staying with family. Their home is gorgeous, comfortable, and has everything you need. And Dax, Georgia, and Bentley are quite honestly the best dogs. They're so cuddly, really well-behaved, and easy to care for. We really fell in love with them. Thank you so much Colin and Sue!

This was a short sit, just the weekend really. I was given a warm welcome, and taken out to dinner the evening I arrived, which was very much appreciated. I enjoyed the company of the three dachshunds, Dax, Bentley, and Georgia, and though the weather didn’t favour us we had some lovely walks. The dogs are easy company. The house is very well appointed, and I was comfortable there. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful sit! I can’t recommend it highly enough. I think it’s probably my favourite sit ever! Sue and Colin were just wonderful and lovely people, and I’m so happy to have gotten to know them. They made sure I had everything I needed. Their home is comfortable and well situated in Perth. More importantly, the dogs! Their dogs are angels. Just so easy to care for, loving, charming and good natured. They were an absolute delight and perfect. What more can I say? Would absolutely love to be able to sit here again in the future.

I had the most wonderful experience with with this housesit. Dax, Bentley and Georgia were delightful to look after. They were so well behaved and affectionate, they really made the stay enjoyable. Susan and Colin also went above and beyond to ensure that I felt right at home during my stay. They also took the time to make me feel like a welcomed member of their family. Along with leaving lots of information on things to do around the area and how to get around. Overall looking after the dachshunds and meeting Susan and Colin was an wonderful experience and I will definitely be coming back when possible!
