My name is Carol Pine. I live on Tybee Island Georgia on the Atlantic coast. I am a journalist and author and single-hand sailor. My dog friend KIZ is mostly a yellow lab who I adopted from the Savannah Humane Society in July of this year. He is a sweet boy, 4 years old.

Give my dog loving attention and care. Give KIZ walks on his leash and time in the fenced in back yard. Lots of pats. He is a rescue and needs reassurance and love. Be a good steward of my home, no smoking please, no parties of more than four people, prefer minimal alcohol; NO drug use; be respectful of neighbors and be quiet.

This was an unusual situation that I hadn’t experienced before. Right before arriving dear Molly past. She was an old hound who’d had a great life with lovely Carol. Carol was kind enough to let me stay anyway since I’d already driven the distance. We spoke about Molly & I got a flower plant for the garden in her honor. Carol was really great about it all. Her home is beautifully clean, in an incredible location & the quintessential beach house. I was sad to not have Molly with me but also grateful to have gotten to stay in this wonderful home. Carol is a fantastic person with an incredible life story. I hope she stays in the THS community & re-lists once she’s ready to welcome a new fluffy family member. Thanks so much Carol. And thank you Molly. Bless your heart sweet hound.

I had a wonderful visit in Tybee island with Molly! Molly is an absolute doll and the house could not have been more comfortable; I spent wonderful afternoons napping on the swinging bed and biking around town. I even saw dolphins every day! I can’t recommend sitting for Molly enough. Carol is the definition of lovely. I hope to return again soon!

I had a nice time with Molly on Tybee Island. Although, we got off to a rocky start (she didn’t like a stranger in her home without Carol there to greet me) she warmed up quickly and we were best buds. She is well behaved on walks and pays no attention to other dogs, cats or wildlife. She enjoys a few short walks around the block, a longer walk and potty breaks in the backyard. She was not demanding and liked hanging out on the patio by herself at times. She’s very sweet and enjoyable to be around. She just doesn’t like strangers in the home and gets very anxious and stressed out, so best to not have anyone besides you in the house during the sit. Carol had a couple of her friends stop over with their kids (to park and use the restroom) before heading to the beach and Molly got very anxious. There was no online welcome guide filled out, but Carol provides a one page brief summary. We stayed in touch via WhatsApp and she answered any questions that popped up. She arrived home a day early, but allowed me to stay until the originally agreed upon end date. This was a good sit and I enjoyed getting to know Carol and Molly and hope I get another chance to sit for her again. *note: the location map says Savannah, but as Carol mentions in her introduction, she’s on Tybee Island*

This sit was perfect! Carol is a wonderful host and made us feel comfortable and right at home. She let us come the night before and made a lovely dinner for all of us to eat together. It was great getting to know her. The house is super cozy, and we absolutely loved the outdoor swinging "bed". Our favorite part, of course, was its proximity to the beach. It was only a 10-minute walk and was so quiet and peaceful. We did morning walks every day and one afternoon we decided to color while laying on beach towels; it was lovely. We also did a day trip into Tybee Island (where the sit is located) and another one into Savannah (only 20 minutes away) and we enjoyed both days immensely. Now onto the highlight of the sit, Molly. She is so calm and mellow and will want to lie down next to you, whether you are on the couch or on the porch. She did take a while to warm up to us and was pretty shy the entire time; but it was nice just to be in her presence. Would recommend this sit to anyone and we wish Carol the best and hope she enjoys future travels as well.

Both Molly and Carol are just wonderful! Carol made sure to show me the ropes and give me great recommendations for the area. Molly could not be sweeter or easier! She is so laid back and happy - I’m going to miss her bouncing around when she knows we’re about to go for a walk! The house is beautiful and in a great location. You couldn’t ask for a better sit!
