Dunning, Perthshire Dog/House sit.
Introduction
We are looking for a sitter/couple to take care of our house and three dogs whilst we are away. We have an English Pointer, a Springer spaniel and a six month old French Pointer puppy. They are all very affectionate, friendly and love to curl up and sleep in a dog bed or better in front of the fire. They are well behaved out on a walk. My husband Charles and I live in a village called Dunning. It is very pretty and has a lot of history. Charles and I both work from home so the dogs are used to having people around.

Our home is set in the beautiful Perthshire countryside between Gleneagles and Perth. We are one hour's drive north of both Edinburgh and Glasgow and 20 minutes from Perth. The nearest train station is Gleneagles. Our house is approximately 300 yards from Dunning village square. There is a shop, doctor's surgery, two pubs, a tea room, golf course, tennis courts and a village hall. We have a pretty garden and in the summer enjoy barbeques and eating outside. There are some very good restaurants in the local area and a particularly nice pub in our village - The Kirkstyle Inn. There are lots of local attractions such as distilleries, gardens, walks and many historical sites. There is a limited bus service from the village. It would be preferable is you had your own transport.

We would like you to look after our home and three dogs whilst we are away. We are looking for a sitter to arrive on the morning of our departure so that we can introduce you to the dogs and show you where everything is . Uisge, Moray and Shuna are very affectionate. They love company and need a walk each day. They are fed twice a day and have a room off the kitchen to sleep in at night or when left at home. When they are not exercising they are normally 'couch potatoes' lying in front of the aga. Some watering of plants would be appreciated. A video/telephone call to discuss timings would be welcome.

I had a lovely time in Dunning looking after Uisge We had a heatwave and spent a lot of time in the beautiful garden. Uisge has a lovely temperament and likes nothing better than a head and neck massage. Charles and Kathryn were very helpful when I arrived and explained everything I needed to know for my weeks stay.

Kathryn and Charles were lovely hosts, and Moray and Isuge were absolute gems! Moray takes a bit to warm up (feed him once and he'll be your best friend!) The local walks were lovely as well. Thanks for the recommendations!

Two elderly pointers welcomed me with tail wags and love snuggles! Sweet Toby and Uisge live to show and receive love. They and their family live in a beautiful piece of village history with a stunning garden and picturesque landscape surrounding them. I’m not sure why the human would ever wish to leave! Great Aga in the kitchen, too, and a comfy bed. The family carefully planned everything so well to the point that a sit here was as wonderful as a delightful Scottish breeze. Highly recommended pups and sit.

We had a lovely time in Kathryn & Charles' rambling Victorian house with Uisge & Toby whilst they were away. The variety of walks from the front door meant we didn't need to use the car at all during our stay. Toby has some health issues, but for a 15 year old was still quite spritely, and even on the longer & steeper walks seemed to have boundless energy and was a great companion to Uisge. The village itself is one of the prettiest in Scotland, with a lovely old pub, a small supermarket and a lovely tea room. In all, a very pleasant few days!!
