Stunning Husky/Akita lad needs looking after - walks, food and cuddles!
Introduction
Hi there, I’m Anna, proud looker-afterer of Shamrock, a gorgeous Husky-Akita. We live in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. From time to time, I need to go away for work or the odd dog-free holiday. So some house-sitting options would be amazing!

We live in a small village in the Black Mountains area of the Brecon Beacons national park in South Wales. Beautiful mountain walks on the doorstep. Close to Hay on Wye, Brecon and lovely Llangorse lake. The house is an old 4-bed terrace so plenty of room for a couple - can make two bedrooms available if that were two friends ;-)

Primary reason for house sit is to look after Shamrock! He loves to be with people and hates kennels. He loves his walks and his food. Dog lovers only need apply. Beyond that, returning the house to me clean and tidy is essential. Shamrock hasn’t grown up with kids so adults only please. Shamrock is a loner and while he loves humans, he does not get on with other animals; therefore, Shamrock must not be let off the lead on walks and sitter's pets cannot be accommodated.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two weeks spent in the beautiful Brecon Beacons area with Shamrock. Shamrock is such an easy, lovable dog to look after. Really well behaved, just a lovely sweet boy to care for! We went for a couple of walks each day in the beautiful surrounding area, with some gorgeous walks just on the doorstep. Anna was such a nice host, she kindly showed me a walk before she left, and her home is warm and comfortable, with everything you could need, the neighbours were also very nice. All in all I'd highly recommend this sit, and would happily come back in the future. Lots of love to you both, Anna & Shams!

Shamrock was a pleasure to look after! Very chilled out boy, loves his food and treats and enjoys his walks. Considering he’s a big lad he’s very easy to walk and very gracious over the stiles. Anna was lovely and very easy to communicate with, replied quickly if we had any queries and her house is very homely, surrounded by lovely villages.

My husband and I had a fabulous time in Talgarth with Shamrock. A lovely warm home, with a welcoming dog-mamma, set in a beautiful area in Wales. The long walks in the area with Shamrock were an absolute highlight. The sunsets will take your breath away. Sham is adorable and such an easy pet to sit - very independent, quiet and easy to keep entertained. We will be back again! Needless to say - would highly recommend.

Lucky times with Shamrock: A true gentleman! Shamrock is a superstar, very well trained; he hands you each paw, in turn, to be wiped after walkies! He is a gentle soul, quite undemanding outside his walk 2x per day, so sitters have time for local visits. I took some treats with me on his walkies and this meant he stayed pretty glued to my side. As an old fella, he is 12, he seemed to enjoy a slow walk with lots of sniffing and scenting, rather than a lengthy route march. There are many pretty walks from his home, short loops up to one hour. There is a super lake at Llangors as well, this is ideal and 5 mins by car. It has fab walking, a Crannog (island), views, cafe, shop and pub. This whole area is very scenic. Anna's home is lovely, warm, and very well equipped with anything and everything you'd need (including coffee press). Super comfy bed in the spare room. It was a pleasure to spend the evening before her departure with Anna, who is fun, relaxed and interesting too. Anna was always responsive and informative. There was handy parking and some nice neighbours. This was Shamrock's first TH experience, so Anne and I stayed in touch throughout, for reassurance. I visited the lovely town of Brecon, which has much to offer a day tripper. Charming cathedral and St Mary's church-cafe and a museum, as well as many shops. Talgarth has a chippy, supermarket and a few other shops, as well as a nice dog-friendly cafe on the edge of town. Visitors can book horse-riding locally, use Llangors lake for paddle-boarding and kayaking, and there are many hikes in the Brecon Beacons too. Locally there is a lot of super local Welsh produce: cheese, meat, bread and welsh cakes! Yum yum.
