House sitter to look after dogs, cat and rabbit in Scotland.
Introduction
Hi! We are Hamish and Emma and we are looking for a trusted housesitter to look after our house in Fife. We have been using trusted housesitters for the last 8 years or so with great success and housesitters seem to enjoy being here too. We used to live in France (you’ll see some reviews for our house there) and then moved back to Scotland in 2017. We live about 45 minutes north of Edinburgh in the beautiful countryside of NE Fife and are about 20 minutes from St Andrew’s. We have 2 dogs, and a cat.

Our house is a historical old house situated in NE Fife. We are about 45 minutes from Edinburgh and 20 minutes from St Andrews. The area is rural but it is located 6 miles from a town which all amenities including supermarkets, bars, restaurants and garages. The house is a traditional house set in a large garden and surrounded by fields. The kitchen has an Everhot (a bit like an Aga) and sitting room has a wood burner. You will need your own car, as we are rural. Only non smokers please.

Main responsibilities would be feeding the pets, walking the dogs and watering plants in the summer. The cat is pretty simple he just need to be given a bit of love, attention and fed. The dogs are young and energetic, so like quite a bit of exercise, especially Treacle our Springer Spaniel. So this house sit position would suit someone who is fit and is happy to go for a long walk each day.

We had a really good time enjoying the countryside of Scotland and taking care of the lovely animals. We laught a lot with Maple’s puppy things and got amazed with the sunsets while taking the old lady, Markha, for walks. Emma and Hamish are very nice people, gave us advise for visiting great spots of the country and made us feel really comfortable for our first experience as housesitters :)

We had the pleasure of spending 2 weeks in a Scotland looking after Markha, Zorro and Leslie in a lovely farmhouse. Hamish and Emma were great hosts and the animals were lovely to look after although you have to be a bit quick if you let Leslie out in the garden as he can make a quick getaway!! We have since heard they have acquired a new pup which I am sure will be fun to look after as well! We would not hesitate in returning given the chance.

Brilliant house sit - very comfortable and easy. The house and location are fantastic. Even though we were there in winter (February) we had a great time and some good weather with which to enjoy walks in the surrounding fields and woods with Markha, the dog, who is an angel. Daytime we could explore some local toms and villages; evenings we could relax in front of the wood burning stove. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome by the family over a delicious dinner prepared for us. They even brought us back some edible and drinkable presents from their holiday trip. Thank you so much Emma and Hamish for your hospitality and trusting us to look after your beautiful home and pets.
