Dolphin watching & sunsets on Old Tampa Bay

Hi I'm Cathi. I live in beautiful Tampa Fl. I'm an Event Operations Manager & with face-to-face meetings returning. I'm finding that I'm needing to travel again. I have plenty of friends that will watch Petey (Petey's my dog). But would much rather have him stay at home with someone, than drop him somewhere. So that brings me here to THS.

I live on the water in old Tampa Bay. The neighbor is called Bay Crest. It is a beautiful amazing friendly, boating community. The condo community is old, built in 1970. But well maintained. My Condo is not fancy. But the dock and the channel are about 8 ft from the screened patio and the pool is about 100 yards away. The condo is a 1st floor, 2 bedroom 1.5 bath, with a full-size washer & dry. When I moved back to Tampa a few years ago, I sold everything. So I'm still replenishing. I have the basics, sofa, chair big screen TV, I stream everything, so not cable box) and the guest/sitters bedroom is fully furnished and has a queen-size bed. But I don't not a lot of pictures or nik-naks. I do have a really great paddleboard & you are welcome to use it. Just ask that you please wash off the saltwater when you done. My place is 12 mins from Tampa International airport. About 20 mins from Raymond James Stadium. (Go Bucs) 20 mins from downtown Tampa, 20 Mins from Safety Harbor. (one of my favorite places) and about 45 mins to Clearwater & St Pete.

Petey is the best boy. He super popular in the neighborhood & everyone loves him He is SUPER laid back, unless he sees a dolphin. I work from home so Petey gets more walks than most dogs. He gets a good long walk in the morning & will wake you up around 6:30 - 7am. We usually walk about 45 mins. Sometime longer depending on who we see on the walk. He gets breakfast after the morning walk. Then he gets a noon walk down the seawall. He will walk up & down the docks and lay under the oak tree for a few mins. (he's looking for dolphins). He gets treat after this walk. Then he take a another "business" walk around 5:30 - 6:00. Dinner around 6:30 - 7 and a final pee walk around 8:30 - 9:30 and gets a small cookie before bed. He also loves to play tug-war with rope toys. Remember he's a beagle so his only jobs are shifting, which is why his walks are so longs.. and he will eat ANYTHING he can so you have to watch what he's sniffing. Should you leave him to go explore. He's good for 6-7 hours on his own.

Petey climbed the charts quite rapidly to become one of the best dogs I’ve spent time with! Everything Cathi described in her listing is spot on. He’s mild-mannered, smart, obedient, quick to learn, and goes crazy for dolphins! The nearby neighbors can be appreciative of his barking at dolphins…more than once, I’d hear an upstairs or next-door neighbor say, “Thanks, Petey!” when his bark alerted them to the dolphins in the canal. One of our rituals was to “walk the wall” at least once a day, and go to the southwest corner of the complex to view spectacular sunsets daily. Here, and on other area walks, passers-by knew him. “Hey, Petey!” from at least one person was the norm most walks. A few times, passengers in cars rolled down their windows to greet Petey. A sitter will be sleeping in Petey’s bed. Although you may be an intrusion, he makes space for you. If you’re lucky, he chooses to actually touch you somehow while you both sleep – it may be just a foot, his back, his tail, his nose…some part of him will touch your body despite any of his “toss & turn” movements throughout the night. Petey’s a great dog, Cathi’s a great hostess, and their corner of Tampa is gorgeous.

Petey is such a wonderful dolphin watching companion! He is so sweet and laid back and when you go for a walk, he will make sure to introduce you to the neighborhood and everyone knows his name! Cathi was wonderful with communicating and making sure I had everything I needed. Awesome place and amazing view! Close to anything you need. I would visit Petey anytime!

Cathi is so sweet! Petey loves barking at dolphins and all the neighbors love Petey. I enjoyed watching petey he’s a very sweet dog I hope to come back sometime and watch Petey again someday! Thanks for choosing me to Housesit Cathi!

Robert & Biljana are absolutely wonderful. They are professional & respectful & took great care of my place. And my dog has a wonderful time with them! I would have then back again without question!
