Introduction
Hi! We’re a family of 3 with a fur baby named Charlie. He’s a 9 year old Miniature Schnauzer who loves snuggling on the couch or going for a run at the beach or nearby Castle Gardens. We live in Malahide, Dublin which is close to the beach and Malahide Castle and Gardens. We travel a few times a year to visit family in Australia and are looking for a house/pet sitter to keep our boy company.

We have a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with an open living/play area for our 4 year old daughter. We have an array of toys, if you have children. The highlight is the large garden area out the back and the building lies behind an electric security gate, providing comfort and security to anyone staying on their own. The kitchen has all required appliances - coffee machine, oven, stove top, microwave, air fryer and dishwasher. We also have a washing machine and drying racks that we use next to the radiators to keep you warm during the winter months. We are a 700 meter walk to Malahide Castle and Gardens, a 30 minute walk to the Dart Station or village which will take you directly into town or the buses out the front will also take you into town. The buses will also get you into Malahide Village in 10 minutes or the beach in 15. Malahide village has some great Irish pubs, shops and restaurants. Depending on the time of year, you may like to use our bikes that we can provide for you as well. We can also provide a ‘work from home’ setup as I currently work from home most days.

Charlie is used to having someone home during the day as I work from home, but he’s also ok for periods up to 8 hours. We walk him for anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours (depending on the weather!). He has breakfast in the morning, dinner in the evening and fresh water daily. He’s pretty low maintenance, he just loves cuddles throughout the day.

Charlie is a great dog to sit. He loves to go for walks and be chased around the apartment for fun. He is cautious and comes when called when outside. He is easygoing and cutely turns circles in anticipation of breakfast and dinner. The apartment has a sliding glass door to the back garden where Charlie happily chases after toys and sticks. He is so lovable that it is easy to give him lots of attention. Malahide is a densely populated residential area. Charlie’s immediate neighborhood has plenty of sidewalks to go dog walking. The apartment is very comfortable and internet access is great. Although grocery delivery is available, it was difficult over the holidays. It would be ideal to have a car for shopping and sightseeing. It was very helpful that the family picked me up at the airport when my flight arrived early morning in Dublin. Charlie’s mom Victoria provided me with written information about everything I needed to know in the event of an emergency with Charlie, local contacts if I needed help, how to use local transportation, and kept in touch across the globe during the stay using WhatsApp.
