Home & location

Our home is an old stone cottage in a small village in the Creuse region of France, renovated to a comfortable standard. A large & diverse back garden backs onto farmland & forests with many tracks for long dog walks. There is a smaller fenced in area & patio at the back of the house for the dogs to run around in. The cats get to roam the village, farmland & local barns, as far as they dare to go. The nearest village with shop is 5 minutes drive, another larger village with a supermarket is 15 minutes & the nearest town with cafes & restaurants is 25 minutes drive. It is a very peaceful area, with no more than a dozen cars passing through the village per day. Downstairs is an open plan living room/kitchen with wood burning stove, plus a studio where I work from home most of the time (wifi is good & reliable). Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms available plus bathroom with shower. It is a quiet place for someone who enjoys a slower pace of life surrounded by trees, birds & other small local animals. Its somewhere to relax with a good book after a long dog walk through the countryside. There is also space to work from home whilst here, if required.
