Dream location in the heart of Provence
Introduction
HI, My husband and I live in Provence, France. In the Luberon, to be exact which is North of Aix-en Provence and East of Avignon. We live in the middle of a hill surrounded by nature with no neighbours in sight. Our small town is only a 20 minute walk on a beautiful dirt road. In our small town you will find a bakery, two cafes and a small grocery store with fresh fruit and vegetables. In a 15 minute car ride, you will find the bigger town with two organic super markets, a hospital, gas stations. Originally, I am from San Francisco, California.Provence reminds me of Northern California with it's oak and pine trees. I am an Iyengar Yoga teacher. My days are spent practicing yoga, teaching yoga, hiking with my dogs, cycling on my e-bike and cooking. Rita is my Australian Shepard 4 year old female, and Rocco, is my 2.5 year old Australian Jack Russel. They are best friends but can get in a fight over a bone. Rita is a bit cautious of other dogs and Rocco loves all dogs. We also have two cats, Hopper and Fanny, They are brother and sister. They hang out mostly outside but sometimes sleep inside too. We live in paradise but 2-3 times a year I like to travel and take yoga workshops with my teachers. My husband is not always available to take care of the pets since he works in Paris. When I leave for 2 weeks, it would be best for my pets to stay at home while I am away on vacation. I am looking for house sitters who love animals and being in nature and can take care of the house if needed. We want to share our paradise. Mi case et su casa.

Domaine de Cabriere is situated behind two lavender fields in the middle of hill in the Luberon. A bit northern of Aix en Provence and East of Avignon. If you have read "A YEAR IN PROVENCE" by Peter Mayle, this is where we live. The great thing about the location of our house is that although we are totally isolated on our hill we are only 20 minutes to our little town by foot or 15 min in a car to the bigger city with organic supermarkets, gas station and hospital/ vets. Most of the hiking trails leave directly from our house. You can take a 20 minute walk along a dirt road to our little town with its own bakery, two cafes, and a grocery store with fresh fruit and vegetables plus the local goat cheese. There are organic wineries, organic farms that sell produce all around our valley. The Luberon is the Mecca for cycling and hiking. The hiking trails are well marked and 15 minutes on your bike with take you amongst the cherry orchards and lavender fields. We have installed High Speed internet so working from home is easy. We even have internet service from our pool area. I am an avid cook so there kitchen is full of good knives, a Lacanche Gas French oven and stove top. A full refrigerator with freezer plus another refrigerator down in the pantry room to store cold beverages and food. There is a washing machine and dryer and a clothes line to dry your sheets in the sun. We have a Gardner who comes x2 a week. He speaks English. Event though we are on our hill alone, we are surrounded by friends and neighbors that always can help you if needed.

In the morning, all you have to do is let the dogs out to do their business. Rita loves to stay outside and can open up the doors to let her self in. Rocco will scratch at the door to tell you he wants to come in. We only feed the dogs once a day @ 17-18h. The dogs like to play after they eat and after your morning tea or cafe. After lunch, I go for a hike with the dogs for about 60-90 min. Sometimes the cats will follow us. The cats will jump on the kitchen table when they want their wet food about twice a day. There is always a bowl of cat dry food on the kitchen table. Warning: the dogs love the cat food . Please take wet food off the table if the cats do not eat everything. From May-sept, there are the plants on our terrace that will need watering. It take about 30 minutes. We water these plants every other day...and some plants only once a week. We have a Gardener that will take care of the other plants/yard. He comes twice a week and speaks English. If the pool is up and working June- Sept, there may be a daily 15 minute cleaning . If the dogs go for a run in the Colorado Provencal, they may bring sand back into the house. You may have to vacuum if you see sand on the floor. I usually clean the toilets, sinks once a week plus vacuum . I can also organise our maid to come by at the end of your stay...if I can get ahold of her!
