My name is Rimke, I am looking for a single sitter! The village Bergen is wonderful, the beach is 5km away, the next town is Alkmaar, also 5 km away. You can use my electric bike . I live in BERGEN BINNEN which is not recognized by Trustedhousesitters site. Bergen aan zee is at the beach and 5km away. Bergen is a nice village with lots of bars, restaurants, wonderful shops, butcher, fish shop, 2 greengrocer shops, 3 supermarkets, 2 organic stores, one real close to the house. It's about a 5 min bike ride to the centre. On Saturday there is a market around the old church in the village center. The house is a corner house with neighbors on the left. Ground floor: roomy living room, kitchen, toilet. First floor: 1 bedroom, 1 tv room, 1 bathroom with shower and toilet, second floor: 1 bedroom. All household appliances are there. Nice fenced in garden on the south side and a front garden. Lots of privacy in the front and back. 2 bikes (1 electric) are in the shed for you to use. The beach is a 15 minute bike ride. The town Alkmaar is 5km away, very nice to have a walk around and lots of shops. During summer they have a cheese market on Friday. Every Saturday they have an extensive market. There is a Railway station, Amsterdam is a 35 min train ride. This area has a wonderful forest, the dunes, flatlands with lots of cows and horses. Great area for bike rides, beautiful walks through the forest and dunes to the beach, which is about an hours walk. At the beach you can take a left and walk along the shoreline to Egmond or take a right and walk all the way to Schoorl, both directions are about 1 hour. I recommend taking a left for at the end of this walk there will be lots of restaurants etc. to recuperate :)

Feed the cats, wet food (each a quarter can) in the morning, dry food during the day. Water indoor plants twice a week or more often, depending on the weather. Water the garden in case of dryness. There is a water pump in the back of the garden or use the hose) I will cut the grass before leaving so that will not be necessary. I will fill up the Chicken feeder and that should last for about 2 weeks, but please check once during the last week. More feed in round black container. Water in green and red container, check if it is empty. Cleaning floor of night coop, maybe once a week. There will be 2-3 fresh eggs every day. There is a broom to clear the space under and around the coop.

I thoroughly enjoyed looking after Hugo, Pepijn and the 3 chickens. Pepijn is a tiny bit shy but very cute and Hugo is incredibly sweet. The house is great and has everything that you may need. Rimke, the petowner is a very kind and hospitable host who is helpful and communicative. Overall, the sit was a pleasure.

Rimke was such a wonderful hostess, with a beautiful zen home and garden. One of the most special gardens too. Pepijn and Hugo were very sweet and I enjoyed looking after them. House sitting for Rimke was an absolute breeze. Her home is comfortable and practical, close to everything you need (beach, shops, nature, cycling routes, etc.). Her two cats are the coolest dudes on the block, pretty unfazed by the fussing of the house sitter, but cuddly and playful nevertheless, on their own terms of course. Nice relaxing sit. Rimke was very hospitable and friendly too. The 2 cats are pretty independent. One is a bit shy and the other one real kuddly and wants to be with you but both very nice. A garden to sit in plus Netflix on TV. Perfect place for walking or biking to explore the Dutch landscape. Tip : around the corner the snackbar has the best special hamburgers !
