Remote house in Tenerife with 2 dogs, an elderly cat (needs medication) & 2 kits

We are an English couple living in Tenerife with our elderly dog and cat, a puppy and two kittens. We typically travel twice a year and prefer to have housesitters so that our pets don't need to change their routines. We also enjoy the opportunity to show off this beautiful island to new people.

We live in a detached house with a large orchard in a very rural area. There are two guest bedrooms for sitters use - a double and a single. We are in a very remote area on the mountainside, a very steep kilometre or two above the town. A car is certainly essential, but you will have the use of ours. Please let us know if you are under 30 or over 70 - it's not a problem but we'll need to organise additional insurance for the car.

Ptolly (cat) is an elderly lady who needs daily medication, but she takes it easily. Baz and Zap (kittens) don't need much apart from food and cuddles. Billy (big dog) enjoys a walk most days, up to about 3 km / 2 miles, but he's not up to the long hikes he used to love. He's feeling his age. Oso (puppy) was born Dec 23 and is full of beans. He's very affectionate and gets quite upset if left alone. He'll probably be a medium sized dog, but time will tell. He's begin to understand his training but he's still a puppy and needs a little patience at times. He travels in the car with Billy very happily, and they love to walk together. In the summer we will ask you to turn on the water to the trees three times a week. Apart from that, we just ask you to keep the house reasonably clean and tidy and have a really lovely holiday!

We really enjoyed our stay minding Billy, Oso and Tpolley. The house was unique, high on the hill and the whole ambience was very pleasant. A house sitters guide was well set out to cope with the house and pets.

We had a fantastic stay in Rachel and Paul's home. A very special house with special people and pets. It is such a magical place, birds and walks on your doorstep, natura all around. The view and the stars at night (when it is not cloudy) to die for. We were very comfortable and had everything what we could possibly needed. It is gets a little bit cooler and might even cloudier up there at the house (it is not always the case but good to know) but we still had plenty of sunshine and enjoyed the cloudy days too. Billy and Ptolly were wonderful company and they stole our hearts. Ptolly knows her own mind. Especially when she decides doesn't need her regular medication anymore. It was just a wishful thinking from her part. She is such a sprightly cat for her age. Very loving and enjoyed cuddles on the sofa in the evenings. Not at last Billy! He is such a dear wise soul. I am certain he even could read my thoughts. He is obedient and well trained a joy to spend time with. He did not like being left alone, so we hardly left him. He is very easy to be with as he didn't mind anything. He loved walking in the forest, enjoyed the dog beach, city walks and even the restaurants. He is just the perfect companion! We already miss them! We can not thank Rachel and Paul enough for this special 2 months! We are truly blessed to be able to experience the magic of their home with their two special pets Billy and Ptolly.
