4 bedroom detached home in Yorkshire with a lovely German Shepherd dog and cat
Introduction
Hello! We are the McAleese Family! We love to travel, last year we joined Trusted Sitter as it gives us the ability to travel to none dog friendly places and still ensure our dog, cat and home are safe and well looked after whilst we are gone! Last year we met some incredible people through trusted sitter and now I recommend to any other pet owners! Now to 2024! We have a trip planned to Turkey in the Easter holidays that we would love for someone to come and sit for, unfortunately this is just a sunshine holiday on an aeroplane so not pet friendly! Last year we upgraded our small camper to a large motorhome allowing us all comfortably to travel the UK, it has been fantastic and Storm has really enjoyed the adventure. This summer we have booked 6 weeks off work to expand our travel in the motorhome to Europe! We have a 4 bedroom detached house, parking for two cars and a large enclosed private garden. We are not far from Huddersfield town centre but perfectly placed to the motorway or on foot exploring! Our sitters will have the top floor of our property which is our guest room and ensuite. Of course the use of the other bedrooms can be accessed if our sitters require. Just a 5 min walk there is a lovely bar restaurant called Harvey's! Would highly recommend! There are so many lovely walks were we live too! We are at the bottom of the hill, once you get to the top we have a bakery, chemist, food and wine store and a hardware store. If you walk further out of the village we have a Morrisons local which houses our post office. There is also a lovely pub at the top called The Sun, this is handy for a walk round Lepton woods and a drink after. If you head in the other direction down the hill, we have an Aldi, home bargains, pets and home and M&S all within 10 mins walk. There is also a large Morrisons within walking distance.

Storm doesn't need a walk every day, with us both working at home everyday she has a lot of time in the garden or just with us. She does love going out for a walk but she enjoys playing ball and chasing sticks more than anything. Both pets are fed twice a day. We would love you to be at home overnight but fine to go out during the day if Storm has been out and had breakfast ☺️ she can be left for the day no problem.

This was an amazing sit. We were very relaxed in Victoria's beautiful home and the pets were great. The house was spotless and was equipped with everything we needed, the area was quiet, on a cul de sac so no traffic noise and the drive was ample for us to park our van. Storm is a fab dog, she is very gentle and walks very well on her lead, uninterested in other dogs or people, she sat quietly in coffee shops. We took her out with us when we went out for the day although Victoria assured us that she could be left no problem for a few hours. We planned our trips with drives of under half an hour in case Storm didn't enjoy travelling in the van and there was a surprising amount of places of interest within that radius, but in fact we could have ventured further afield as she was also an angel when we driving. Arnie is a beautiful cat, no trouble he has his cat flap to come and go as he pleases. He was very comical and was very enthusiastic for his food and like cuddles on his own terms! Victoria was absolutely lovely, very welcoming and made sure she gave us a thorough house tour so we knew where everything was before she left. We exchanged WhatsApp messages everyday and they were always prompt and friendly. A five star experience of house sitting and we would be happy to return.

We loved this sit! The pets are great, very low maintenance, so so loving, and really chilled. They were also great around our young son. The house is lovely and the area has lots to do :)

It was a real pleasure to house sit for Victoria and Kelso. They are genuinely nice and welcoming. The house is lovely and comfortable. We loved hanging out with Storm and Arnie. Storm is such a beautiful dog, calm and listens to your every word. Communication from Victoria was great and I would definitely recommend this as an ideal house sitting opportunity

I had the loveliest time looking after Storm and Arnie! Storm is a sweet, calm, loving bear of a dog. You will fall in love with her instantly. Seriously she’s no hassle at all. She’d actually make a great therapy dog! Arnie is just a dude! He’s an outdoorsy cat who will come to you when he wants a bit of fuss. He’s very smart and I found him hilarious! Victoria is absolutely lovely and her home was spotless and super comfortable! I had everything I needed and she was fab with communication. I live quite near to Huddersfield and have only been there briefly a couple of times. It’s far cooler than I ever realised! Plenty to do and see nearby if you’re going to do some exploring. I’m going back to do another sit for Victoria in a few weeks and am very much looking forward to it. Thanks Victoria!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Storm, she is a very gentle and extremely good natured, just a pleasure to be with. Arnie is no trouble he puts in an appearance at meal times and then goes out. Victoria was great to communicate with before and during our visit. The house is comfortable , clean and has everything you need. There are amenities within walking distance (Aldi, M&S food) We would highly recommend this house sit .
