Lenny the mini-Bernedoodle!
Introduction
Single, professional, female, living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I do a lot of traveling with friends and for work, sometimes long weekends, and sometimes 10 days, but mostly 4-5 days at a time. I work remotely from my home for a large global company as a senior leader within their Talent Acquisition department. My mini Bernedoodle, Lenny, has lots of foster friends that have been taking care of him while I am traveling. Using TrustedHousesitters so that Lenny can stay in his own home while I am away. Ideally, our Trusted Housesitter would be able to work remotely, using my home office, so that someone is with Lenny for most of the day. He is just used to me being home most of the time, but does fine on his own for six hours if I’m out running errands or have plans with friends. Everybody loves Lenny!

Beautiful 2800 ft.² one story home with a finished basement. There are four bedrooms (two on the main level, two in the finished basement level) and three baths (two with showers, one with a tub), open space concept kitchen and dining area, two living rooms (one on the main floor and one in the finished basement), an office, laundry room, and workout room with an elliptical machine and massage table. It’s a beautiful space and although we’ve only lived there for three years, I’ve taken great pride in creating a beautiful, inviting and comfortable space for friends and loved ones to gather. Lenny loves the fenced in back yard and I enjoy hosting friends on the backyard patio and enjoying all the flowers and landscaping that makes it a very cozy environment. We are within walking distance to Cedar Lake and within long walking distance or biking to Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska, and Lake Harriet. Within a two block walk to Starbucks, and a three block walk to a fantastic neighborhood restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, called YUM! (also great coffee and baked goods!) Easy access to the main highways that will take you to downtown Minneapolis, Saint Paul, or the Mall of America. Minneapolis is known for its food scene with a huge number of fantastic restaurants! There is also a big theater presence with lots of local theaters that put on great performances, and of course the world renowned Guthrie Theater. Minneapolis and St. Paul also host a number of professional sports teams including the Minnesota Vikings football, Timberwolves basketball, Lynx ladies basketball, United FC soccer and Wild hockey. Explore Minnesota in all seasons, taking advantage of our 10,000+ lakes for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, boating and sailing. In winter, add ice fishing, ice-skating, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling to that list! Minnesota is one of the best ranked U.S. cities for biking in all seasons, with designated bike lanes and lots of bike trails that go around the lakes and can take you far and wide in and outside of the metro area. My home is in a very safe and walk friendly neighborhood with fantastic neighbors across the street and next-door and all along the blocks surrounding me. We are a very tight-knit community and should you need any assistance during your stay they will be extremely helpful.
Show more...Responsibilities
Provide Lenny basic needs that include twice a day meals, twice a day walks, play time, belly rubs, and love. He is currently on some allergy meds so give a half pill (I've already halved them) once a day in the Greenie Pill Pocket as a treat. Before you leave the house, just have Lenny go outside via the side door by the mulch area to “go potty” and you can leave him in the house alone for up to eight hours, although I strongly prefer six if possible, as he is used to someone being home. Keep the front window blinds up so he can look outside. He likes to sit on the back of the couch. Before bedtime, I say "time for bed" and "lets go potty" and then I let him out the side door and stand there until I see him pee. Then we go to bed. He likes to sleep with people and typically will hang out at the bottom of the bed on top of the bedspread so he shouldn't crowd you. If you don't want him to sleep with you can put him in his kennel and close it. He will likely bark for 10 minutes but will eventually stop. You can also just close the bedroom door but he will scratch at the door a while. My neighborhood is great for walks! A block away is Fern Hill park where there is a small walking route around the soccer fields. Cedar Lake is just 6 blocks away and lots to walk there! Lenny's walks are for sniffing/brain exercise and for body exercise so I try to remember it's about him and allow him to explore the boulevards (I keep him off people's lawns). When we get back from walks I let him into the backyard to get the ZOOMIES out! Then we go back into the house. If it's wet outside then please wipe him off (especially paws) with the towel by the back door (another towel is on his crate if he comes in from the side door). Try to keep blankets all over the couch when it's raining outside so that if he comes inside and is still wet that he gets the blankets dirty not the couch. If there are potted plants on the front step area or back door patio area, please water if hot. I have a few plants in the kitchen and one inside the front door, just water if really dry. Otherwise they are fine. There is a watering can above the fridge. If you stay over on a Sunday night, then please note the garbage is picked up early Monday morning, so please bring the green lid small can to the front curb area with the wheels facing the house. The brown lid small can is organics and the big blue lid can is recycling which comes every other week. If you aren't sure what week it is, look at what cans Katherine puts out across the street from my house.

House-sitting for Liesl and taking care of her dog, Lenny, was a delightful experience. Liesl's warm welcome and thorough instructions made me feel at ease in her well-maintained home. Lenny, her sweet and well-trained dog, was a joy to be around. The house was clean, organized, and fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Liesl's excellent communication throughout the stay reassured me that everything was going smoothly. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity and would gladly do it again. If you have the chance to house-sit for Liesl or meet Lenny, don't hesitate - it's a five-star experience. Thank you, LiesI!

I had an amazing experience sitting for Lisel and her puppy Lenny, and I'm really thankful for it. Lenny is a bundle of energy and it's so fun to be around him. He’s the kind of puppy who grows on you with each passing day. From the start, his playful and energetic nature made every day exciting. Whether he was chasing a ball or just running around exploring, his lively spirit was contagious. I found myself looking forward to what each new day with Lenny would bring. As I spent more time with him, I got to see just how sweet and friendly he is. Lenny's always happy and his cheerful barks and wagging tail can easily turn a bad day around. He’s not just fun to be around, but he’s also very gentle and friendly with everyone he meets.Lenny is a wonderful puppy who will bring joy to your life. I really appreciate Lisel for giving me the opportunity to take care of Lenny. It's been a fantastic experience, and I hope to have more good times with Lenny in the future. Thank you once again for this awesome experience!I highly recommend this sit to any traveler. Thank you

Sophie was immediately engaging with me and Lenny, as she is a very positive and fun loving person. Lenny adored her! He got regular walks and lots of playtime (lots!). Sophie was completely self-sufficient and the house was left very tidy, and Lenny was in great spirits. Recommend Sophie for a house/dog sit! 🐾
