Pet and home sitter wanted to enjoy 2 cats and our wonderful home

Introduction

I am a home body who loves my cats, gardening, and pottery. I am very attached to my cats which makes it difficult for me to travel. My children are grown and gone enjoying their own lives. I have a pottery studio in the back yard that I share once a week with my pottery pals. I have retired from my profession of speech and language pathology. My husband, who is also now retired, is becomeing more and more insistant that we travel now before we no longer can - due to age. It is important to me that the cats have company, the plants are watered and the mail is retrieved from its' box. I would feel much more comfortable traveling or leaving my home if I knew everything was in good hands.

Home & location

Our home is a Currier and Ives picture 2 story. It has 2 master bedrooms. One on the main floor and one on the second floor. It has a fairly open floor plan on the main floor, as the well appointed kitchen is open to the livingroom and the formal dining room. The living room opens out to the back yard where there is a small covered deck with 2 seating areas and a larger open deck that looks on to the flower gardens, vegetable garden and the pottery studio. The pottery studio is pictued and is a smaller rendition of our home. The master bedroom on the second floor is where the sitter will sleep. It has an ajoining master bath and closet. There is a laundry room on the second floor along with 2 other bedrooms that are connected by a jack and jill full bath. Our home is in a golf cart community that has 90 miles of golf cart paths, an amphitheater, several parks 2 lakes, 3 golfcourses and plenty of restaraunts and shopping. This community is tucked away from a major city that is easily accessible by a 30 to 40 minute car ride, depending on traffic. The golf cart paths are also used for biking and walking. It is a lovely, peaceful, safe community. There are several movie studios near by and the location movie shooting for many a Zombie is also very close. We have lots of birds in our backyard. They come to our feeders and are fun to watch. We have many hummingbirds that return to our home and feeders every year. They are gone during the months of November through March. We enjoy sitting on the covered area of the back porch and wathing the birds, chipmunks, squirrels and deer. We have a wonderful area to bar-b-que on a charcoal grill. Our golf cart is not for sitter use.

Responsibilities

Cats need to be fed at least twice a day. Three time if they turn their nose up at offered food. Water fountain needs to ocassionally be refilled. Refill the fountain by taking off the clear back by lifting upward. Turn it over and uncrew the bottom, fill with tap water, screw the bottom on again. Take it back to the water fountain and replace it. Dry food. If the container is empty or near empty, turn it over and slide the tray off. The dry food to fill the container is in the mudd room under the hanging coats, in a plastic container. Open the bag, fill the container and throw away the bag. Slide the tray back on and turn the container right side up and it's good to go. We have a pet door so that the cats can come and go at will. They will complain loudly if they want to go out and can't. Please, do not make them prisoners in the house. They have many hiding places around the house that they can access if endangered. They will respond to being called during feeding times - morning and evening. They have their favorite places where you can ususally locate them. Gotham's favorite places are sleeping on the chairs on the front porch, back deck and on the studio porch. If you cannot find him there, he likes to hang out and sleep under the bed in the guest room...He crawls into lining of the box spring and sleeps there. He will not come when called if he is there. Depending upon the season, the plants on the front porch, back porch, and up the path to the studio need to be watered daily. Water hoses are strategically placed for convenience for this task. Humming bird feeders and seed bird feeders are located on the front porch, back porch, and studio porch areas They need to be replenished as they empty. This can be as often as everyday. I will be sure to have plenty of hummingbird food already made and in the frige. The food for the front porch feeder is in the office on the floor next to the file cabinets. Food for the feeders in the studio. Enter the side door of the studio and the food is located on a shelf to the left. Plant wathering and humming bird feeder replensihing does not apply to the winter months. There are two dehumidifiers in the basement that will need to be emptied daily or every other day or just whenever it gets full. You will know they are full because it will stop running. Please, bring the mail in daily. And any packages that are on the porch, too. Thank you.

My stay with Gotham and Joker was delight! They were truly a dream; so cuddly and sweet with distinct personalities that I really enjoyed getting to know. Gotham is such a handsome and distinguish gentleman and Joker is a such a beautiful and exquisite lady. I had a meet and greet with Andrea and Phil before my sit to get to know each other and I quickly felt welcomed. Andrea took the time to walk me through the house and go over in detail about her furbabies and plants care. She has a very neat and simple feeding station which made feeding time super easy. Andrea is a gracious host and thoughtful person, very communicative and helpful. She ensure I was comfortable and I had anything I needed for my stay. The house is beautiful, warm and inviting, well equipped with everything you could ever need. You can tell how much Andrea takes pride in her home and surroundings. The house has a lovely garden and porch and is located in a great and quiet neighborhood. I personally love Peachtree City, it has everything you need nearby: The Avenue Peachtree City with great restaurants and shops, Peachtree City Market, Lake Peachtree, Line Creek Nature Area and so much more. Besides enjoying Gotham and jokers company, I also enjoyed starting my day sitting by the garden or front porch with my morning coffee watching the hummingbirds. I highly recommend this house/sit to anyone looking to explore the area or just have a relaxing stay. I'd definitely would comeback if our schedule aligns in the future. Thanks Andrea for trusting me with the care of your home and your precious furbabies! .

We had such a wonderful time taking care of sweet and handsome Gotham "The Most Interesting Cat in the World, and playful and young Joker "Monkey Mouse Cat." Both of them are affectionate, and are full of character. They love to spend time playing and hunting for lizards in the garden, and also like their nap time on the patio. Responsibilities are easy - have fun with them, feed them twice a day with snacks in between, keep the water bowl clean and full, and of keep the litter box clean. There are birds to feed and watch, potted plants to water and enjoy, and a humidifier to empty twice a day or so, and mail to bring in. All easy peasy. Andrea and Phil are the epitome of Southern hospitality. We arrived after a long drive in the rain and they welcomed us with smiles, grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. We cherished the time we were able to spend with them too. Fantastic conversations, and lots of laughter. There home is beautiful and comfortable and easy to maintain, and Peachtree City is a gorgeous golf cart community - lots of trees, lakes, restaurants and shops. It's all about quality of life. Highly recommend this sitting experience, and hope to return to do it again.
