Tiny House, Quiet Retreat - Easy Sit

Introduction

Hello, fellow TrustedHouseSitters. I have been a member of this application for nearly 5 years and have experienced both sides. I have recently moved back to Kentucky, the state in which I was born, but have been away from for a long time. I just finished building my small cabin with the help of my family and I'm loving it! I live minimally and simply and enjoy the comfort and quiet of rural living. Although I have moved back, my wanderlust spirit remains, and I often like to travel. For this reason, I will occasionally need a loving and responsible house sitter to care for my animals and cabin.

Home & location

I live in South Central Kentucky, in the beautiful rolling hills countryside. I am located 12 minutes from the nearest town by car. My cabin is set far off the road and is fully surrounded by beautiful native trees of Kentucky. This location is great for someone wanting to get away from the city hustle and bustle and wanting a quiet place to focus and or relax. How the tiny house came to be: It has long been a dream of mine to build out a tiny house and have my hands and labor in nearly every part of its finishing. In 2022, when I decided to pause my travels for a bit, I moved back to Kentucky with the intention of finding some land in a quiet setting and starting on my bucket list dream. With the help of my dear family and friends, we finished it in Dec. 2022! I love this cabin and am so grateful to have a modest place to call my own. The cabin is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom, with a living/kitchen combined space. It is a fully fenced-in yard so the Spice Girls (my collective group of chickens, as they are of the breed, Cinnamon Queens) can roam freely, safely, and happily :) The surrounding area is well known for lake lovers, as Cumberland State Park is only 15 minutes away. Also for a unique cultural experience, a local Amish community is about 40 minutes away, and is worth the drive to visit their local produce stalls, quilting stores, handmade furniture, and more. In the summer months, there are many local farmers markets to visit with locally produced produce and artisan crafts. Otherwise, you can open the cabin door and escape to the yard where you can enjoy laying in a hammock and watching the birds and squirrels under a beautiful blue Kentucky sky! :)

Responsibilities

I'm in search of someone one who will respect my home and care for my animals. The kitties are indoor/outdoor and are super social and lovable. They love to nap, snuggle, and play. Ensuring that their litter box is clean, their food bowl is full, and their water is fresh. The chickens are simple: Gathering eggs daily, cleaning out their roosting pen daily, and making sure they have fresh water and food. The home is simple as well. Just keep it tidy, clean, and safe :). For extended stays, mowing the grass is needed in the summer months.
