If you like nature, this is the place for you. We have 27 hectares of lawn, pasture and woodland! The property is quiet and secluded, but the local town of Eauze is only ten minutes away, while Bordeaux and Toulouse are both accesible for day-trips. You will have your own Gite, with a mezzanine double bedroom, kitchen and bathroom and Barn House style beautiful sitting room. There is 10mps wifi. This is rural France! Mobile phone signals are patchy and thunderstorms can cause power cuts. The pace of life can be erratic. Some of the local people speak English, but you really need to be able to communicate in basic French as well.

Every day of our stay was truly heaven for us and we're so grateful for our time caring for Sarah's and Mark's home and farm. Beyond being wonderful and caring hosts, we've come to feel them as good friends. Smokey and Pudding, being farm cats, at first seemed fairly independent but day-by-day grew to be sweet, funny, wonderful companions, joining us for our morning chocolate or coffee, accompanying us on our daily rounds about the farm, and stretching out for soothing purring, rubs, and catnaps at the day's end. From nickers and whinnies as we stepped out each morning to climbing up the hill from grazing whenever we would call their names, we grew so close to Belle and Jolie that it was difficult to say goodbye--our last day filled with soft nickers and tears. Though spring was pretty chilly for much of Europe this year, the farm and countryside were so magical and beautiful that we've now set plans to move France. The farm itself is so serene and peaceful--deer grazing in the pastures on our morning walks...blissful quiet in our days at work, reading, and writing...sunsets on the rolling hills that stopped us in our footsteps to simply watch in silence--we passed most days without ever leaving except to pick up a fresh baguette or run a short errand. And when venturing out, whether to greens and fruits at the weekly market, eating a romantic dinner at our favorite café in town, or heading out to nearby villages for a flower show, flea market, or just to explore, we grew so fond of our stay at Mark and Sarah's that it was more difficult to leave than we could ever have imagined...and with gratitude for their friendship, the memories, and days to come that lie ahead.
