We are Judy and Geoff, a married couple who have lived in Spain and Portugal for a total of 26 years. We often visit family in England but since adopting two dogs, find it hard to travel together. We are retired teachers, and hobby musicians. We are both In our 70s. and love to travel around Portugal in our camper van. We need a sitter for special family events in UK.

We live in a quiet cobbled lane in the centre of a small town. Canas de Senhorim has all amenities such as Bank, post office, bakery, health centre, dentist, hairdresser, grocery stores and plenty of other shops within a short walk of the house. There are also cafés and good restaurants, and a municipal pool open in the summer. The house has 2 bathrooms and three bedrooms, upstairs is our music studio and hobby area. Outside is a large cobbled patio and garden which is dog-safe and walled. The neighbours are very friendly, and helpful.

Walk and feed dogs twice daily, morning and afternoon. Groom or bath when necessary. They sleep in their own beds in our bedroom at night. They are good car travellers and love to go further afield if required, for days out in the countryside. Feed cat twice daily and provide cuddles and occasional grooming. Feed fish in garden pond in the evening, and make sure pond pump is turned off at night and on in the morning. Keep garden watered as and when necessary, and any fruit picked as required. Keep house clean and fresh.

Geoff and Jude welcomed us warmly upon our arrival and later we enjoyed a meal with them at their friendly local restaurant. They have a comfortable home in a friendly neighbourhood within walking distance to many amenities. The two dogs, Miggie and Lula, and the cat KT were a delight to care for. Although Miggy took a few days to settle before becoming more relaxed around us the three pets loved receiving lots of attention and affection. We would love to return to look after them again.
