Caring cat lovers required to house sit in a much loved home

Introduction

We are two hardworking professionals with no children apart from our two kitty fur babies. In the past we have been fortunate enough to have family look after our little ones and house when we travelled, but sadly this situation has changed. So we are looking for cat lovers to come and look after our little girls, home and plants, inside and out. In our spare time we volunteer for Animals Asia, fundraising and raising awareness of AA’s work have been fortunate to visit their sanctuaries in China and Vietnam. We also love Greece and visit most years. We are keen walkers and feel very lucky to have beautiful walks on our doorstep.

Home & location

We live in a 3 bedroom Georgian Cottage built in 1748. We love our home and feel privileged to live where we do and be a keeper of an old property. The guest bedroom has a double bed, the bathroom has a shower and bath, the kitchen is small but functional and a lounge and separate dining room. I work at home occasionally and either use the dining room or bureau although the desk area is small. Outside we have a car port within a private courtyard. We have a front and back garden and the back garden has a covered patio area with a heater so you can enjoy the outside even if it rains! No smoking inside the house please. We are in a small hamlet so are rural but not isolated with total of 8 properties around a shared courtyard area, with friendly neighbours. We are surrounded by beautiful Kent countryside, with the Pilgrims and North Downs away on our doorstep and is one of our regular walks. It is a peaceful house and location. Charing village has a local grocery store and a micro pub with limited opening hours. We also have Westwell Vineyard which is less than a 5 minutes walk. Ashford International train station is 15 minutes away by car and has easy access to London or the Kent coast with quaint seaside towns such as Whitstable and Rye. Canterbury is approximately 12 miles by car or accessible by train. Charing train station is 15 minute walk and has connections to Ashford International for further travel or you can take the slow train direct to London Victoria.

Responsibilities

Lilly and Bubba like company so we need sitters to spend time with them. They have a morning feed and an evening feed. Lilly will likely end up sleeping on your bed and might wake you up in the night for fuss and attention. Bubba is an old deaf lady and will cry for her food in the morning and walk off after a couple of bites! At the moment no medication is needed. We have said they can be left for 6 hours the maximum time to leave them is 8 hours. We have house plants and quite a few pots on in the back garden that need watering (and deadheading if you are green fingered, but not essential unlike the watering). We like to look after the wild birds in the front garden with seeds and filling the bird bath. Both back and front gardens have a retractable hose.
