House and dog sitting in Burwell needed.

Introduction

I and my wife Allison are both employed at the University of Cambridge and share a love of animals, nature, science and our two young Norfolk Terriers (show dogs, so well behaved and happy!). We tend to take our leave time over long weekends but occasionally go to Canada to visit family. Our village is near Cambridge Ely and Newmarket

Home & location

The house is large and modern with three stories including 5 bedrooms, one of which is a nice guest room for the sitter's use with a king-sized bed. There are three bathrooms, two of which have showers and one of which has a bath. We have a large garden of which the dogs have full use. The kitchen is new with two electric ovens and a gas hob, and the adjoining utility room has a clothes washer and dryer. The house has all new floors but as you can see from the photos there are two sets of stairs; you enter on the middle of the three levels with a spiral staircase to the 'ground floor' and a short staircase to the bedroom level. There would be space to park one car.

Responsibilities

We would like someone to come stay at the house with the dogs while we visit family in North America. The dogs are used to having people WFH and thus we would like the sitter to be on site most of the time if possible. The dogs are fed and walked twice a day. They eat a frozen raw diet with minimal supplements; it's an easy regime to follow. If you are not familiar with Norfolks, they are a mild-mannered, gregarious dog of 10-12 pounds; the girls are half-sisters born about 6 months apart, the oldest now 14 months. They are very good with people and other dogs and can be very social on walks; some dogs in the village are not so social so you need to be careful about how they meet and interact on their walks. They are NOT allowed off lead when outside the house or garden. The large garden could use watering as necessary but if it rains once in a while it should be okay.
