2 Sweet Cats in Prime Lake Michigan Location
Introduction
Both professionals with desk jobs, we enjoy being outdoors wherever we can. New Buffalo provides the perfect setting for paddle boarding, walking the beach, biking, visiting the local wineries and shopping for vintage finds. In the Winter, we enjoy hiking and exploring the local state park trails. We are empty nesters with 2 kids- one who is a Sophomore in college and one who is pursuing her PhD. When we are not working or enjoying the outdoors, we are very involved in the community helping with the local lower income housing shortage and food insecurity. Our fur babies are rescues and we adore and spoil them beyond! We hope that whoever ends up staying with them provides them with the level of attention and care to which they anre accustomed! :)

3 bedroom, 2.5 bath waterfront condo located in a gated community in the heart of New Buffalo, Michigan (1 hour 15 minutes outside of Chicago). Situated on the Galien River and across the street from the public beach, our home boasts 25 feet of deck overlooking a 40-foot boat slip and a nature preserve. You are steps away from a community pool, the Stray Dog, downtown shopping, grocery store and the Amtrak stop. The vaulted-ceiling living room is equipped with a 65-inch flat screen tv hung over a stone fireplace. There are hardwood floors throughout and a granite kitchen with premium appliances. If you enjoy kayaking or paddle boarding, we’ve got you covered and have both right from our dock. In the winter, there are a lot of great spots for cross country skiing, snowshoeing or hiking. Otherwise, you can curl up by the fire and read, watch movies and relax.

Jasper is very sweet and loves attention. He likes to sit out on the deck with a human nearby so he can take in the wildlife. He free feeds dry food and gets a portion of wet food with a probiotic at dinner time. Jasper LOVES whipped cream or creamed cheese as a little treat. He gets a quarter of his high blood pressure pill 2X a day. It’s very small and he takes it well. We rescued Kili in June after Jasper’s sister, Chloe, passed. Jasper and Chloe were fine together however Jasper acts very alpha and territorial around Kili. As a result, we have a gate up that separates the house. It’s a manageable situation but a little bit quirky. Kili has been through some stuff in her former home so she is slower to warm up than Jasper who is an immediate lover. That said, she is not at all aggressive- just shy.

Beth’s home is warm and inviting. It was the perfect place to get some peace and quiet. I walked on the beach every evening since Lake Michigan is basically right out their front door :) Beth was very welcoming and communicative whenever I had questions. She also was extremely generous and asked me if I needed anything specific, food wise, before I arrived. Their cat Jasper is such a sweetheart. He’s the kind of cat that’s always looking for some love, which I was happy to give him.

Laura was absolutely fantastic. From the time we confirmed the visit, she was in touch making sure she understood how to best care for Jasper. Our home was pristine on our return and Jasper was a happy kitty. It was obvious he was Ioved while we were gone and Laura sent lots of pics. I highly recommend her if you need a conscientious, reliable, pet-loving sitter.
