Hello! We are Mark, Rachel and Lochley - our super friendly labrador! We have always loved France and when we found this beautiful house, decided to make it in our home! We have always liked to travel, but since we can't always take Loch with us would love to find a sitter who appreciates his company as much as we do!

Our home is in quite and peaceful area surrounded on all sides by 16 acres of garden and grounds with a secure gated entrance at the end of the drive. You would stay in the guest bedroom with shower en suite in the main house and have access to all the communal rooms. There are no immediate neighbours but a friendly community within the village, which although it has no shops does have a baguette and croissant machine which is freshly stocked every morning! There are several marked walking routes from 5 - 10 km which start from the centre of the village. The nearest towns are Hagetmau (10 minutes drive) and Saint Sever (15 minutes) which have a multitude of restaurants, shops and supermarkets. The Tourist Information offices are super helpful and provide updated schedules of events in the local area as well as maps for walking tours around the towns.

Loch has dried food with a bit of water and one tablet (which he eats like a sweetie!) in the morning and evening He likes to go out for a walk either a short explore around our field or a longer walk on one of the nearby forest , lake or river paths during the day (he occasionally suffers from arthritis so about an hour for a long walk is usually about right).

Loch is such a sweet boy - we had an amazing time with him. Thanks to Mark & Rachel for the opportunity. Below is a detailed review : - Loch : super sweet, young and healthy labrador. He adopted us fairly quickly and showered us with a lot of love throughout the sit. He was not fussy at all (except for hugs and massages, haha), super easy to take care of. He followed us everywhere in the estate with his sweet eyes, cute toys and funny antics. He also slept independently in Mark's room allowing us super comfy nights. - The house : super comfortable house with a great bed, we had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Fully equipped kitchen. If you have a car, some great restaurants in the nearby villages. We enjoyed nice walks to the nearby village when it was sunny, but otherwise the property is large enough for Loch's daily walks. The weather was too cold for the pool but we really enjoyed the gym Mark & Rachel have set up. We were lucky to have some bright and sunny days despite autumn, allowing us to even take Loch out for a daylong walk which he really enjoyed. - The hosts : Mark was very welcoming to us and treated us like friends from the beginning. We really appreciated the Orthez train station pickup/drop as well as the big grocery shopping. We did not use the bike he offered due to the rainy weather but were content that the option was there if needed. We did not get a chance to meet Rachel as she was travelling but she was super nice in all our messaging interaction throughout the sit. We had some great conversations with Mark and also a glass of wine when he welcomed us at the sit. Overall, a truly 5-star sit if you love nature and calm. We would be really happy to apply again in the future. Thanks!

Rachel & Mark are very friendly and communication with them was easy from the first video call throughout. They welcomed us into their home the afternoon before, and kindly invited us to share a lovely evening meal with them. This gave us all plenty of time for any questions, and getting to know Lochley. Located in a rural area, their home is situated in a lovely countryside setting on the edge of a small village. The house is fabulous, with some amazing facilities, including a pool and gym, but still retains a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. This extends to Lochley who’s routine regarding walking and feeding is quite flexible. As the hunting season was in session our walks with him were either around their own fields, or to the village to visit the baguette vending machine. Lochley knows his way to the village and walks well on the leash, and is delighted to receive a small bread tax. He is a very sweet gentle soul, and very friendly to any people we met. We only met another dog once, and he was quite unperturbed by the unruly stranger. It was a pleasure to care for him, and clearly whilst he is very attached to Rachel and Mark, spending the first day alternating between waiting by the door and laying on their bed, by the second day he got completely comfortable with us. He likes to be with you! Definitely a 5* sit. Highly recommend.

Dream sit! Wow what a wonderful stay we had at this incredible home. Mark and Rachel were fantastic hosts right from the beginning, with clear communication and kindness to make sure we felt right at home while they were away. Mark was so generous to pick us up/drop off from the train station and even took us to the supermarket so we could gather some food for the week. We spent a night with Mark in his home before he left so he could take us over the ins and outs of the property. We really enjoyed his company and he was more than happy to answer any questions we had on the spot, or over WhatsApp whilst away. The house its self is absolutely stunning. The property is well cared for inside and out with the guest room (where we stayed) extremely clean and the bed so so comfortable. The area surrounding the house is beautiful with lovely walks, a tennis court close by and a bread vending machine! The supermarket is accessible by car if you have one or easy to reach by bike (which the hosts are happy to lend you). We honestly only left the property to the supermarket once as we felt we had everything we needed at Mark and Rachel's. The absolute pinnacle of our stay was spending time with the gorgeous Loch. His is a beautiful lab with the sweetest nature. He is well mannered, disciplined and extremely easy going. We gave him lots of cuddles and loved taking him for a morning walk in the paddock. Honestly, we still tell people about this incredible stay with the most gorgeous dog that we fell in love with. Thank you Mark and Rachel, we so hope we can come back again one day!

We had and awesome time sitting for Mark and Rachel, and taking care of the most sweet dog Lochley. Rachel and Mark are a joy to be around, they gave us the warmest welcome, and made the effort to make their place ours, we arrived a day earlier and spend some time with them and Lochley just for adjusting and getting a hang around the property (with is a peaceful country paradise by the way), they have everything you will need and more, you can bike or ride to the nearest supermarket. Lochley was the greatest, he is super educated, and behaves really well, he loves to go on walks, cuddles and spending time with him, so he will be the best companion, he's a sweetheart, and we fell in love with him. We were able to work from home wonderfully, cooked, and relax. The communication with Rachel and Mark was perfect, and we were able to know everything we needed, and if not, they were there to answer all our questions. We recommend this sit 100%, and would love to come back again :)
