Let Chester intruduce you to our beautiful surroundings

Introduction

Tony and I are retired, living on edge of the National Park in a beautiful part of Northumberland, close to the Cheviot hills. We acquired our beautiful Fox Red Labrador Chester in November 2020 and would love him to be looked after at home along with our garden.

Home & location

Our detached house is set in large grounds with fabulous views behind to the Cheviots. We have lounge, dining room, conservatory, dining kitchen, utility, downstairs bathroom and separate shower, on second floor we have a ensuite superkingsized bedroom, twin bedded and king-sized double bedrooms. There is also a shower/toilet on this floor. If we require sitter during winter months our home is warm and cosy with full oil fired central heating and multi fuel stove in the lounge. Alnwick Garden and Castle are only 18 miles, Bamburgh beach and castle 15 miles, numerous castles less than 20 miles away. You can walk from the house into Wooler in 10 minutes. The foothills of the Cheviots are just a mile up the road for those who love walking. Wooler is a small town but has a Co-op, two bakeries, 2 butchers and other interesting little local shops, including our own old fashioned sweetie shop and local ice cream milk bar

Responsibilities

Chester has complete run and freedom in our enclosed garden and paddock and now warns us when strangers are around. During summer months I would really like someone to water my flower tubs and greenhouse and we may need the grass cut around the house with a petrol propelled lawnmower if it gets too long. We feed the wild birds and our feeders need topping up. The Gruffalo and Mouse need no looking after!!

We had a great sit with Chester in Wooler. From our first communication with Christine she was friendly and informative. She and Tony gave us a lovely welcome to their spacious and comfortable home and garden including a tour and delicious lunch. Chester was a wonderful dog to spend time with. He is a big boy but gentle, playful and great company. He is really good on his lead and Tony gave us some good walks including one going straight from the house. Wooler is a very pleasant small town with good access to the Northumbrian coast and countryside. We would highly recommend this sit.

Mike and I had visited Christine and Tony earlier in the year to meet them and of course their fox red Labrador, Chester. I arrived on the morning they were departing for their holiday and after a chat with Tony about the caring responsibilities of Chester and the house and talking about some useful safe places to walk with Chester, we had a walk round the garden and paddock area and Tony showed me where the fish and wild bird food was kept. Christine showed me round their spacious, comfortable home and showed me how to use the appliances. We then sat down for a lovely lunch Christine had prepared. We lost our 13 year old fox red Labrador Alfie in 2020 and this sit had been booked for a year, so I was really looking forward to spending a couple of weeks looking after Chester. I spent a few days on my own and then my husband, Mike, joined me. We had an absolutely amazing time, taking Chester on various walks around Wooler, Chillingham, Ford, Etal and also the beach at Goswick with a friend and her two dalmations, who lived a few miles from Wooler. Chester loved playing with Freya and Leo, running in and out of the sea. We visited the new Museum and Whiskey distillery Ad Gefrin in Wooler and the Chain Bridge Honey Farm, culminating in a walk near the suspension bridge along the river. Chester is well trained with a beautiful temperament and we fell in love with him straight away. He reminded us so much of our beloved Alfie and brought back happy memories. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Chester and would not hesitate to sit for Christine and Tony again. Lesley & Mike

We loved looking after Chester, he is loving and well behaved with a great love of socks and slippers! Christine and Tony's home is very comfortable and in a beautiful area. We loved exploring the beaches and pubs with Chester, who makes everyone smile with his gorgeous nature. We will hopefully get to look after him again❤️Thankyou for making our time in Northumberland so relaxing.

This was an excellent housesit. Christine & Tony made us very welcome - firstly on a pre-visit and then when we arrived for our stay. We were extremely comfortable in their beautiful home and garden. Chester is a well-trained and affectionate dog and was a pleasure to walk in the scenic countryside near to the house. He is a great companion and we had lots of fun and laughs at his antics. We would have no hesitation in returning to care for Chester and would highly recommend this housesit. Thank you Christine, Tony & Chester for a brilliant week.

We enjoyed our house and Chester-sit very much in the beautiful Northumberland countryside. We appreciated the detailed handover notes and were very comfortable in Tony & Christine's lovely home. A most welcoming and friendly couple. The views were very special and we enjoyed exploring local walks with the lovely Chester who was a pleasure to look after. It was great being so close to Wooler and easy access to countryside and coastal walks. We highly recommend this sit!

Clare And Matt come with excellent recommendation., We returned to a happy and contented pet. Chester obviously enjoyed his walk up Humbleton Hill with Matt and his swims too. We were sent updates of what he was up to which was reassuring. As we won't put him in kennels we know that because he loves people he happily welcomes strangers into his space which he obviously did. He made new friends The house was left in excellent order and all linen and towels including Chester's bedding had been washed. Our wild birds were well takencare of too! Definately recommend these sitters. Thanks Clare And Matt
