Sitter required for our lovely lab

Introduction

Peter and I own Penny, a Labrador. We want to enjoy more holidays in the future as I am due to retire from September and the trusted doggy hotel that we usually use has very limited availability going forward. We also think that Penny would be happy to stay in her own home while we are away.

Home & location

Our house is situated in a very rural location - you would need a car to get around. Beautiful countryside and approx 30 mins from the North Norfolk Coast. We have 4 bedrooms and a lovely, large rear garden that backs onto farmland. The house has been recently decorated throughout with new garden/kitchen extension and bedroom loft conversion. There are 3 'living' areas - kitchen/garden room extension, lounge and snug. Our prefered area is the kitchen/garden room extension and we tend to spend most of our time in that area of the house as we have bi-fold door that open on two sides straight into the garden. The garden is south facing but there are shady areas if needed. We have multiple seating areas in the garden to relax and unwind. The village of Horningtoft is very quiet. There is a fantastic pub in the next village (The Brisley Bell) that has won many national awards but there are lots of places to eat and drink a short drive away. The beaches of the North Norfolk coast are approx 30/40 minutes away and the walking and birdlife is fabulous. Many of our beaches are dog friendly. These include: Wells next-the -sea, Holkham, Blakeney - with more commercial beaches at Sherringham and Hunstanton. We are approx 45 minutes from the Norfolk Broads. There are a variety of country estates close by - including Sandringham, Houghton Hall and Holkham.

Responsibilities

To look after Penny our Lab - to walk her and take her to the beach to play ball. Penny likes to go for a gentle walk first thing in the monring and then she has another couple of walks during the day. she is happy playing with the ball (that you have to throw) in our back garden - plenty of room to run around. She has three smallish meals a day and a treat mid morning and mid afternoon. Lots of tummy rubs and fuss goes down well. Apart from just keeping the house hoovered as Penny does shed a lot of hair we don't really need you to do any other kind of chores. We haven't decided whether to plant tomatoes yet but if we do a daily watering won't go amiss.

What a lovely sit we had at Peter and Christine looking after Penny in their beautiful home and large garden with views. It was very rural but it suited us perfectly. Penny was very easy to care for and because of the Heatwave we stayed home alot, which was no problem atall. We had great contact with Christine before and during our stay. A lovely couple and hopefully will return, it was most certainly our pleasure.
