We live in the pretty village of Gullane in East Lothian. Stunning views from our hill top home over the surrounding countryside. The stunning beach is an easy walk down the hill with a slow walk back up! The village has great pubs, cafes and small independent shops. There are 2 buses per hour taking you east to North Berwick or west to the centre of Edinburgh. A golfers paradise with 22 local courses or here in the village is the famous Muirfield. We have spent the last year renovating our home and by mid August it will be finished giving a wonderful contemporary home with fabulous views. We are at the top of a hill so you need to be fit to get to us if you don't have a car.

We are looking for a house sitter who will spoil Smudge and take him for lovely walks twice a day as well as look after our home. Smudge is only a young dog so need constant reassurance and guidance and he can only be left for sound 30 mins in his crate so far. He has 2 meals a day and treats He enjoys his walks but a he's still young he can walk for a max of 60 minutes. Every walk is an adventure so he still need guidance to make good choices. He need plenty of sleep as well as mental stimulation and if he gets bored can start to be mischievous. His favourite treats when out if he walks nicely are small bits of cheese If you do need to distract him when in the house he loves dried fish tubes which he will chew whilst in his bed. He sleeps in his crate in the utility room from around 10.30pm until 7am. He can sometimes whine and bang on his crate for attention. We ignore this as he just want out to play because he's awake! He has his own dog flap as it very good at going out to the garden to the toilet. He goes out first thing when he comes out of his crate. Once he's been outside then he loves to come back to bed with you for a snooze or he wants to play !

What a sit! Smudge was the most loveable and gorgeous dog! We had so much fun all week! If all house sits were like this I would do this full time!! Nutty and Hans made us feel very welcome and both were very kind! The house and the area was fabulous! Was soo sad to leave Smudge this morning!!

Netty and Hans were easy to communicate with and their home is situated in a lovely setting. They graciously welcomed us the night before with a lovely dinner and it was great to get to know them and Smudge before they headed off on their travels. We walked Smudge twice with them as they showed us the local area. Smudge is playful, well behaved and energetic and very easy to take care of. We were surprised for a one-year-old just how easy the bedtime routine was. Smudge provides lots of fun and amusement and is a delight to look after. His happy place is down on the local beach. Their home is very comfortable, within easy walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants many of which are dog friendly. We highly recommend this sit.

Netty and Hans were both so kind, supportive and organised when Isabelle and myself came to sit during their 2 week vacation. It was an absolute delight looking after Smudge- he was always well behaved and was an absolute champion when out on walks.. the hardest thing was saying goodbye to the little guy! :( The house was absolutely gorgeous and a pleasure to stay in, stayed very warm when it was cold out and was in a beautiful village surrounded by many great walking spots. We have so many fond memories from our stay in Gullane and would recommend to anyone after a wholesome experience in Scotland to sit for Netty and Hans. I hope to return one day, thanks for having us and we miss you Smudgey 💕🐶

A short but very sweet sit with Smudge. We met up with Netty for a nice chat prior to our sit. Communication was great from the start. We enjoyed spending the weekend with Smudge, he is playful, funny and cuddly. Hans and Netty’s home is very comfortable and stylish and they both made us feel very welcome. Lots of great walks nearby, one of which has fantastic far reaching views across to Edinburgh and Fife. Gullane has a fabulous beach. Highly recommend sitting for sweet, smart Smudge. 🐶

We were lucky enough to meet up with Netty, Hans, and young Kip before the sit because we don't live too far away, and it was good to be able to go for a walk together. Kip is an exuberant people lover with an interest in whatever is going on. He does though snooze often and so can be left for a little while (although we are sure he would prefer to be with you out and about in the car!). Priory Barn is a very comfortable, clean, warm house with a garden large enough for Kip to enjoy his frisbee. The area is absolutely beautiful (as all of Suffolk is) and there are plenty of road-free walks to enjoy with Kip. We are looking forward to further walks with Netty, Hans, and Kip in the future. Thank you Netty for contacting us. Heather and Martin.
