Comfortable Stay with lively dog.
Introduction
I'm looking for someone to stay in my home and look after my lovely dog, Harvey, while I'm away. He is around 9 years old and he's a rescued Lakeland Terrier.

Cozy, 2-3 bed semi-detached house on the edge of the Heath in Knutsford. Central heating, aga, open fire, garden, TVs, WiFi, comfy beds (2 doubles plus a downstairs daybed), off-street parking. Cleaner comes weekly and gardener fortnightly over the growing months. Convenient for many local attractions including Knutsford itself, Tatton Park, other historic homes and gardens (Dunham Massey, Lyme Park etc), Chester, Macclesfield. Plenty of local walks - parkland, farmland, woods, fields, villages etc. 15 minutes to the train station, with a terrible service into Manchester (in theory it's hourly) and even worse bus service to surrounding towns. You will have full and sole use of the house.

Look after Harvey and water plants (if I haven't killed them by then). Harvey wakes early - around 6am - to go out in the garden. Then we have an hour or two back in bed with morning coffee for me and strokes for him. Harvey is on a restrictive diet of Royal Canin Satiety 164g split over 2 meals at breakfast and around 4-6pm (or whenever suits you if you're out and about). Morning walk - around the heath, into the countryside or take him further afield as he likes travel in the car. He's 9 years old so 15-30 minutes is enough, but he is happy for more. He loves walks and is always keen to go out when you put shoes on! Keep him on a lead because he can get spooked by loud, sudden noises and can run away. If he gets spooked, take him straight home and then he is fine. Supper for Harvey between 4 and 6 if you're home, or whatever works if you're out and about. He goes out again after eating (in the garden or another brief outing if you like), and then just before bed time. Other timings he will tell you when he needs to go out. He sleeps in the crate on the landing, but if he's nervous he might go and sleep in the bathroom between the toilet and the chest of drawers. Make sure the bathroom door is wedged open if this happens - he got stuck in there once and damaged the door and paintwork in his panic to get out! He is happy to be left for a few hours (2-3) if you go out and about. He loves people and is totally reliable with adults and children. He can be nervous around other dogs and needs to be kept away from small dogs which he will think are toys... and he likes squeaky toys, so you can imagine what this is like... He will not be happy with another dog (or cat) in the house. He is anxious around noisy people, or loud laughs or people getting up and about, and will bark. He is also unhappy if two people hug/cuddle (I'm not sure if this is because he thinks they're fighting or he feels left out!). He will also bark at the TV if there are fights, or love scenes, or balls moving around (football and tennis games have been frustrating!). He stops barking to the command "out" but has yet to learn not to bark in these circumstances.

We had an excellent stay looking after Rosie and the house. Rosie is a super loving dog who always wanted to be cuddled and of course we complied with her whim. Amanda was always very kind and attentive to make us feel comfortable in her home. Even the day she arrived, tired from her trip, she kindly offered to take us to the airport. Also that day, we met Lucy, her daughter who was very nice and pleasant. It is an experience we would gladly repeat!
