Sitter needed for a terrier in a spacious, modern 3 bed apartment in Tampa, FL

We're Chris & Joe; a couple from the UK, who (due to Chris's job) have recently emigrated and now live on the sunny Gulf Coast, in Tampa, Florida, USA. A couple of times a year we fly back home to catch up with friends and family, along with the occasional business trip out of state and during those times need someone to house sit and to look after our dog, Cooper.

We live in a 1,600 sq ft apartment on the 4th floor of a wonderful new apartment complex in Midtown. There are 3 bedrooms, each with their own ensuite, a kitchen/living room space and a massive wrap around balcony that gets sun throughout the day. The apartment also comes with both a washing machine and drier and A/C throughout (for those hotter times of the year). It's wood floors and the decor of the apartments have been done to a simple yet modern design. There's a huge multi story parking lot on site so great access to come and go as you please. You can park on the same level as the apartment as well meaning from your car to the apartment door takes about 30 seconds. The apartment itself is located in a purpose built community with a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops included within the complex itself, including a big supermarket. It's also has a number of other facilities such as spin studios, gyms & barbers/salons to name a few. There is also a free gym, business center and pool within the apartment complex itself to be used by residents. The apartment is less than 5 miles from the airport, 10 mins into downtown Tampa and between 20-30 minutes away from beaches There's also a nice dog track/walking area situated just behind the apartments that does a loop of a manmade lake/pond. There's also an amazing park (Al Lopez) just 5 minutes drive up the road with plenty of space to walk the dog if you fancied something bigger.

Cooper is a pretty low maintenence pet but loves being around people and despite his age his still very active so loves nothing more than going out for a walk and playing with his ball. He's the sort of dog that doesn't know when to stop so usually you have to make that decision for him. He'd stay outdoor all night playing with his ball if he could. A typical day usually involves a short walk in the morning time (15-20 mins) anytime between 7am-9am and then a longer walk in the afternoon/evening (heat dependent on timings) at the local dog park anytime between 3-6pm. His two meals are always given to him after his two walks. Throughout the day, Cooper will need to be taken downstairs to relieve himself (every couple of hours on average) and then usually a quick 5-10 mins wander around the dog track next to the apartment before bed. Cooper is happy to be left alone for periods of upto 4-5hrs max (a couple of times a week) aslong as he's walked just before you leaving and just after you getting back. Cooper is VERY sociable with people so if you spend the entire day in the apartment with him he'll love that, equally if you want to take him out and about with you, he'd love that too. Expect a lot of cuddles (he will constantly try and join you on the couch or bed - even though he is not allowed on either!)

Chris and Joe are wonderful people and great hosts. They welcomed us to their beautiful home and gave us a tour of the neighborhood, building they lived in and amenities, the day before they departed. Their furkid, Cooper, is a sweet fella, with a very cute personality. He loved to go for long walks, visit the dog parks with his ball, or simply chill at home. The neighbourhood is very walkable, full of energy, and has lots of sights to see. We thoroughly enjoyed our time caring for Cooper, and highly recommend this sit. 🐶❤️

It was a pleasure taking care of Cooper. He is so quiet unless you give him his ball or play with him then he becomes a “young” Cooper…he is a lovely dog and so easy to love. Chris and Joe are very nice, friendly and organized people. Chris had a list of suggestions for us to enjoy Tampa. Their place is at an excellent location for nice restaurants and walking distance to a Target, Wallmart and a brewery. There is also a WholeFoods store across the street with an excellent selections of healthy meals ready to go area. We would love to go again and taking care of Cooper.

I had a wonderful long weekend with Chris and Joe’s adorable dog Cooper, who is as special as Chris describes him in his detailed write up. He’s cooperative, patient, calm and quiet almost always, undemanding unless he needs something, and a good companion. He loves nothing more than to be near you! Cooper can be a grazer but ate well and did his business very regularly on our walks. He walks briskly but doesn’t pull on the leash. We walked around the lake on the property several times a day and went to Al Lopez park right up the street for longer daily walks. Cooper is a real pleasure to spend time with. Chris and Joe were great hosts and communicators prior to and throughout the sit. They live in Midtown, a very interesting area in Tampa with shops, a grocery store and lots of great restaurants right below the condos! Their condo is very comfortable, nice big wrap around balcony, lots of premier tv channels, and many amenities available in the complex, including pool and gym. I would definitely recommend taking care of Cooper and hope to be invited back!
