House sitters 13-25 Sept approx in SW France for Rio dog, cats Lena & Mollie
Introduction
Rio, Mollie & Lena need you! We are looking for house sitters to take care of our house and pets in this special area of France from approx 13 - 24 September, 2023. We live in a small village in the beautiful Gers region of SW France, surrounded by vineyards and quaint villages. Rio is a rescue dog so he especially needs the security of staying at home and being well cared for.

Our house, the old presbytery, next to the church is in a small village surrounded by countryside and vines. Nearest town for supplies is Eauze about 8 kms. Rural, peaceful and quiet, we have a lovely garden and pool. The house is very old having been converted over the years with central heating, wood burners and an open plan style. We also have satellite tv and radio and a good internet connection. A car would be necessary in this area. The area is fabulous for walking, cycling, wine tasting, visiting brocantes and relaxing. The local market in Eauze is one of the best around and there are lots of restaurants in the area, some of which produce a 14 euro lunch menu (with wine!). It's somewhat of a foodie paradise! We have English speaking and French friends in the area who are always happy to help out, if necessary. Nearest airports are Toulouse, Bordeaux and Lourdes. Train stations: Agen (TGV) and Auch. Chanel ports: St Malo, Caen & Cherbourg. 10 hours drive from Channel Tunnel. Please contact for a reduced rate on Brittany Ferries if driving from the UK.

We live in a beautiful old Presbytery near Eauze in the Gers, South West France with 2 gites and a swimming pool. We would very much like house sitters to look after the house, Rio our 3 yr old rescue dog and 2 cats from approx 13 - 25 September, 2023. We always like our sitters to arrive one or two days before we go away to get to know the animals and the house. Our main concern is that Rio is made to feel relaxed and happy with the sitters. He has been with us for 2 years and has settled in very well but still shows signs of being nervous so barks a lot at strangers or other dogs. Once introduced he's fine. He loves his walks, off lead, during the day when he is quite obedient and gets taken out in the early morning and last thing at night in the garden. Cats are mostly self-sufficient but need keeping an eye on and like a cuddle. We would like someone who is happy to spend more of the time at home, not out sight-seeing every day. We would ask for the house to be kept clean, animal's beds washed when necessary , light gardening, watering , pool and maintenance duties. If necessary, they can always stay on in a gite once we return depending their onward plans.
