Cat sitters for Cachou in little solar house in the Luberon area of Provence.
Introduction
Arrival date is firm but end date is little flexible - ready to discuss. Artist's cat and house need a couple (or two people) to look after Cachou, a part Chartreux cat (neutered male) who very much leads his own life but is very loving. He likes to be brushed and cherished. The property is remote, no neighbours nearby - two kilometres from villages, either side and 20 mins from nearest town, Apt. Great walking, cycling or just chilling. Quiet and very beautiful. A car is ESSENTIAL - please do not apply if you don't have a car or the possibility to hire one. Not suitable for small children. No smokers please ! I will be here for a day and night when you arrive to hand over and will send the Welcome guide to you before you arrive.

Small well insulated house on one floor. The sitters will have a double room with good quality bed (160X200cms) and a single room as dressing room or extra bed - shower, WC etc en suite. Well equipped kitchen, dish and clothes washers, Wifi (much better than basic, fine for streaming in fact good but not like the superfast in cities), TV etc etc.. For those who love nature and beautiful countryside it's paradise but it is quite remote. Village shops 2 kms - supermarkets, cinema etc 16 kms/20 mins drive. The house has passive solar heating and a wood burning stove, it is cosy and warm. Great site seeing - Avignon, Arles, Aix etc..

We went to Joucas to HouseSit for Caroline in April 2019. We stayed two weeks and had no problems at all. Cachou is a wonderful cat who is very much independent. Caroline showed us everything we needed to know, about the house, and about the surroundings. The weather was great, so sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful views, were part of our daily routine. We would love to come back again. Yvonne and Karl

Our stay at Caroline's in the Vaucluse, taking care of her elderly cat Cachou was an excellent experience. The house is pentagon shaped with a glass (solar) room in the middle which gives a surprising element of space. It is located on top of a hill with amazing views over the valley and the Luberon mountains. The whole area is great for hiking, cycling and visiting picturesque villages, balancing on some scary rock formations, which we did plenty off. We had a chance to meetup with Caroline before her departure, who we experienced as a very gentle, kind and generous host who showed us some of the beautiful art photos and paintings she is known for. Cachou is a very independent cat, who comes and goes as he pleases which makes him very easy to take care for. All in all this was a great experience which we highly recommend to anyone else.

Our sit with Caroline and Cahou was our first housesit so we have been very curious how everything was going. We love our stay in the little solar house with very big gardens on the hill just outside Joucas, al little village. We were there in septembre, had nice weather. So we sat in the garden, in the sun or shadow , eat on one of the terrasses with nice views. We did not need the woodburner, but where was a lot of wood to uses. You have your own apartment with shower/ toilet and a nice sleepingroom. Caroline was very welcoming and cat Cahou has his own live but love his food and beiing groomed. The surrounding and villages around Joucas were nice to visited. Te nearby supermarkets are on 10-15 km. distance. There was a little but pricey one in Joucas. We enjoyed our stay in Joucas in Caroline's solarhouse. Ronald and Annestien
