In-Home Cat Care Needed for Low Maintenance Single Cat

Hi. I am retired and have lived in Gainesville for 8 years. I would like a cat person to stay with my one cat, who is very people oriented. I enjoy getting away for trips to just get away and refresh or head north to see my family. This listing is only available for single pet sitters because of the size of my apartment guest bedroom. Athena can be shy and upset around men, probably something in her past made her wary, so female pet sitters are preferred.

I live in an upscale apartment complex in NW Gainesville. I have a 3 bedroom / 2 full bath apartment with enclosed screen porch overlooking green space. There is ample close parking. The apartment complex is gated in the evening hours and is extremely quiet. My apartment is easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants. There is a guest bedroom with queen bed and attached full bathroom for my pet sitter. I have streaming TV with Prime, and PBS channels available. The apartment has comfortable A/C, washer/dryer and full kitchen. It has enclosed screen porch in back sitting porch in front, and comfortable living room/dining room and den with TV. I have panoramic WiFi which covers the whole apartment.

The sitter needs to provide basic care - fresh water, dry food once a day, wet food twice a day, and litter cleaning once a day a well as occasional Temptation treats. Primarily, Athena is a people oriented cat and just likes people to talk to her (she's a very vocal cat) and pet her. She loves watching TV with me, sitting on the porch, and sleeping on her cat tree perch while I work at my computer next to her. The apartment requires no maintenance or work. The sitter is free to come and go as Athena sleeps a good deal of the day. She is an indoor / outdoor cat, but spends time outside sleeping on the porch chairs, either on the front porch or back screened porch. She is allowed to go out once in the morning and once in the afternoon. She stays out about 30 - 45 minutes and does not like to go out if it is raining and/or cold-ish. She meows to come in or will come in for treats. She can only go out if the petsitter is at home.

Carolyn is so sweet and accommodating! Truly enjoyed staying in her lovely home very clean nicely appointed with a fabulous gym and heated pool in the clubhouse. Great location. I could never say enough amazing things about Athena the kitty! Super independent. Has a sweet little routine. Totally non-invasive stays off of all tabletops and kitchen counters, which is a humongous major plus for me. Athena is sociable and sweet and so absolutely beautiful. Truly enjoyed my stay. Carolyn is a very gracious, generous, and kind host. She went out of her way to make sure I had what I needed. Her place is safe and secure and within walking distance to an adjacent shopping center with a Publix grocery store, a pizza place, and McDonald's. It is also within driving distance to the World Equestrian Center. I enjoyed going to watch the horses practice one afternoon while I was there. There are also several parks nearby for walking. Athena is a sweet, easy going, affectionate, and playful cat. She frequently curled up by my side when I was on my laptop. I recommend this sit to any cat lover who gets the opportunity to stay at Carolyn's place.

Abhaya was an exceptional pet sitter for my cat Athena. She is experienced, friendly, and a great communicator. Abhaya sent pictures and updates every day and it was evident she played and cuddled with Athena. When I returned it was evident that Athena was very emotionally and physically well cared for. Abhaya left the house clean, tidy and in perfect shape. I will definitely use Abhaya every time she is available when I travel. Abhaya is a trustworthy pet-sitter and a very kind person. I recommend her most highly.
