Tidy, light home in Southwick
Introduction
Hello there! We're a couple living in Southwick (just out of Brighton) with two very good natured cats -- Gink and Greebit, who need some looking after when we travel. We love to get away for long weekends now and then throughout the year, and we also sometimes take longer trips to see our families who live overseas. The cats need someone who will feed them twice a day, and give them lots of attention and affection while we are gone, as they get pretty lonely!

We live in a beautiful, light, quiet, two bedroom semi-detached house in Southwick, with easy access to transport links in to Brighton. It's ideal for a couple or a single person. We are 5 minutes walk from Southwick Square, which has a few interesting shops, cafe's and restaurants, and 15 minutes' walk from a Tesco Super store and M&S. The Southwick train station is also a 15 minute walk away from our front door. Southwick itself is quiet little town, and a 10 minute train journey to Brighton, where you can access the beach and the Brighton pier, to the Brighton Dome where you can see concerts and live events, to the Laines and its quaint shops, and to many of Brighton's restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, and nightclubs. No car is necessary, but we also have off-street parking available. We have a garden which is lovely in summer. We have super fast and reliable internet, a large 4K TV and sound system, probably too many streaming services, and an espresso machine for coffee lovers. We have a dishwasher, and a very comfortable queen size bed for sitters to sleep on.

The cats need lots of love and attention, and to be fed twice a day. Their water and biscuits need to be changed and topped up once a day. We also have a few house plants that need watering once a week. During dry spells in summer, the garden may need watering once a week.

I had such a lovely time sitting for Jess and Richard looking after Greebit and Gink. Communication was very easy and quick from the off. Jess and Richard are so warm and friendly, they made me feel very welcome and appreciated throughout my stay. They have a beautiful home which is in a fantastic location for walks, public transport and shops. The town itself is very self-contained but it’s also a great location to explore Sussex, London and the South of England. Greebit and Gink are both super friendly, affectionate and playful cats. It was a joy to look after them, they were such great company and made me smile every day. I would highly recommend this sit! Thank you Jess, Richard, Greebit and Gink for a lovely stay 😺

Wow I have so many positive things to share about my time caring for Jess & Rich's lovely home, and most importantly, their precious fur babies! Gink & Greebit, I can't even write this without my eyes watering haha! I love them so much and I'm so glad that my phone is now full of pictures of them because they truly are beautiful companions :) Jess & Rich are SO loving, kind & considerate. They welcomed me into their home and ensured that I knew my way around & that I had everything I needed to enjoy my stay! (They made an incredible guest guide booklet!) The loving kind people that they are shines through Gink & Greebit in the way that they love too. They both took to me quite quickly and we had our cuddle routine, Greebit in the morning & at night in bed (her favourite place), and sir Gink is the couch cuddle buddy & enjoys watching shows, usually Greebit will join in as well. (Gink usually goes out on more adventures during the day!) Greebit is soft & sweet, Gink is more strong in his character but don't be fooled by it, huge softy too. Anyways, I'll stop now so this doesn't become a novel on how much I love everybody in this household! In regards to their home space, beautiful energy & very clean and awesome location near everything that you need including the Brighton Lanes! Thank you all again so much for sharing your home with me & I hope to see you all again soon!!

This was and will be the best sit I will have on this site. Richard and Jess were just so lovely to chat too before the sit. We shared travel recommendations ahead of their holiday. I started a little whats app group to ease their minds while away. They were very responsive with questions I had and loved the pics I sent on of their cats. I am in love with Greebit and Gink, I was genuinely really sad to leave them at the end. Greebit is so sweet, and gentle I woke up with her on the pillow next to me first morning. I just wanted to protect her from everything. Gink is such a character, equally gentle but has a little cute bossy side. When he wants to be fed or wants some treats. He took a little while longer to get used to me, but then was sitting on my lap in the end purring away! Richard and Jess's home is so adorable and very homely, everything you need to cook. The location was perfect for me, really close to restaurants, pubs and shops. The beach is 20 min walk, but buses are close. I loved my short stay in Brighton, and will think back looking after those beautiful kitties with very fond memories to come. Would go back in a heartbeat!
