Bude, Cornwall, one lovely cat and a super soft dog
Introduction
Hi, my name is Victoria. I live in beautiful Bude with one older gentle lovely cat, Magwitch, and Agatha - Dame Agatha Christie in formal settings! - is a super sweet, older, round, lady dog. She is very easy going, sleeps a lot, and just wants to know she is loved (who doesn’t?!). Sometimes she will be included in the house sit, but mostly not. I live in Stratton-Bude, North Cornwall. My house is 1.5 miles from the beach.

I live in a 3 bedroom semi detached house (1970s council build - not that pretty on the outside, but very decent sized rooms and garden). Two of the bedrooms are doubles, the third, small room, has a bunk bed (quite often occupied by my furry companions). It has a good size private garden, with decking and garden furniture. Mobile signal and Wi-Fi strength are good (not always a given in Cornwall!). The house is located in Stratton, Bude, and is 1.5 miles from Summerleaze Beach. There is also Crooklets Beach (just under 2 miles) and Widemouth Bay beach (well within 5 miles). Bude has a canal, a nature reserve walk, lots of clifftop walks and lots of lovely places to eat and drink.

Magwitch likes dry food, a couple of wet food sachets, and water, and a stroke, he loves some attention. He has not worked out the cat flap, or is scared he will get wedged (I like my food and I empathise!) so is often to be found loitering at either the front or back patio doors to be let in/out. There are water stations both downstairs and upstairs and litter trays in the small bedroom. Agatha is an absolute cutie, good on the lead, or off, loves food, loves a short walk, loves a fuss and a sleep (she’s my spirit animal!). She is rarely on the house sit but I am mentioning in case she is. I have quite a few house plants which, should I be away for a week or more, I would love to have watered if possible.

We had a lovely few days with Mr Mittens and Magwitch at Victoria’s house. Mr Mittens has insulin twice a day, he takes it like a trooper with no fuss at all. Magwitch came and went as he pleased, it was very hot while we stayed and both cats liked to sit in the garden with us in the shade. Victoria’s house was comfy and a good location for trips to Bude and Northcott beach while staying. We would happily pet sit these two handsome boys again!

We had a fantastic time with Mr Mittens and Magwitch. Both cats are good to have around, trusting, and easy to care for, especially Magwitch is very cuddly. Mr Mittens is diabetic, but that should not put anyone off. He is used to getting the injection twice daily, making it easy. Victoria's flat is quirky and comfortable and in a nice location. The kitchen is well equipped and leaves nothing to be desired. Especially the garden gave us a lot of pleasure in the warm summer evenings. The communication with Victoria was unproblematic and marked by trust. We would sit for them and the flat again anytime.

I had a wonderful few days staying at Victoria's house. The cats are easy to look after, Mr Mittens is affectionate and often kept me company and is no problem at all when taking his insulin injections. Magwitch is also freindly and fun and more of an independent character. Ths house is conveniently situated and about 15 minutes walk to Lidl and Morrisons and 5 minutes drive to Bude and beautiful beaches. Victoria was a great host and left clear instructions on looking after the cats. I would definitely recommend this sit and will hopefully be back again!
