Come hang out in Merida Mexico!
Introduction
My husband and I work remotely and travel to spend time with our families. Our two kitties are adorable and need some love when we are out and about.

Merida is a beautiful city founded by the Spanish 480 years ago and has 1000 years of Mayan history before that. Our neighborhood is called Itzimna and was the Mayan village in the 1400's. The house is 2 blocks from the Parque de Itzimna which surrounds a church from the 1600's. Merida is also incredibly safe as it is the second safest city in all of North and South America. This is an excellent location in Merida. The house is also just 2 blocks from Paseo de Montejo and the iconic Monumento a la Patria. It is a large home with balconies on the front and back. There is plenty of room inside and outside of the house including a living room on the ground floor and a family room upstairs with TV area and attached balcony. The master bedroom has a king size bed and attached balcony. The second bedroom upstairs has a queen size bed and shares it's balcony with the third bedroom which is used as a dedicated office area. Each upstairs bedroom is equipped with individual mini-split A/C units. The upstairs family room also has a large mini-split A/C unit. The large mini-split upstairs can also provide heat but it's not necessary even in the winter. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom so there are 4 total in the house for you to choose from. Three of them also have showers. We enjoy cooking and have extensive cookware, many appliances and utensils. The kitchen is equipped with a 6 burner gas stove and oven. It also has a water cooler for delivered water and equipment for making coffee and espresso. The back yard has a covered patio, swimming pool with zero gravity reclining chairs, a wash room and a small work shop. It also contains many plants including banana, dragon fruit, and passion fruit. The passion fruit is very productive most of the year. A housekeeper will come each week and clean the floors, bathrooms and change and wash sheets just like a hotel. A pool person will also come each Wednesday and clean the pool and treat it with chemicals. They do not need you to be present while they do their jobs. Every Sunday, Paseo de Montejo, the Parisian style boulevard two blocks from the house is blocked off to cars so people can ride bicycles, jog and skate. The event attracts many artists, musicians and street vendors and the street is lined with cafes and restaurants. The new electric IE-tram stops very near to the house and provides a few minute ride to La Plancha, the fantastic new central park of Merida as well as to the new Tren Maya train station. New modern hybrid buses offer service every 10 minutes in each direction from the house offering easy access north to the weekly Slow Food market, and three large malls as well as south to the historic center. Ride services are provided by Uber and Didi and are inexpensive. In fact, it is rare to pay more than 100 pesos ($5 USD) to ride to any point in the city. We use buses, the electric IE-tram and Uber/Didi for all of our transportation needs. There are three different food delivery services that will deliver cooked food from most places in the city as well as groceries from several different stores including Costco. Deliveries usually happen within the hour including for groceries and the delivery fee is minimal. The house has 200 Mbit fiber optic Internet to the house for remote working and there are 5 or 6 cafes and two remote work spots if you want a change of scenery while working as I often do. We also have a friend just a quick message or call away that speaks English and Spanish that we employ to help if you run into any issues and can't get ahold of us.
Show more...Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: cleaning the litter boxes Mon, Wed & Fri. Feeding the cats daily and filling the water dish. Ana enjoys wandering the neighborhood and likes to be let in. Ana gets treats each day. Xochitl has food allergies and cannot have treats. Because of the allergies, sometimes Xochitl's ears get a big goopy. She has meds if needed. Outside plants need watering every 3 days. Leaves drop around the pool so sweeping them away is a plus if you plan on using the pool.
