Stay on rustic off grid mountain farm
Introduction
I live on a beautiful off grid mountain farm. I'm a dog behaviourist and occasionally have to travel for work.

My home is nestled at about 600m above sea level, on the edge of a mountain within the Gardunha range with vast sweeping views over the surrounding areas. In between Monsanto and the Serra da Estrela, both of which can be seen from the mountain's ridge. I am restoring an old ruined farm house. It's unfinished. There is solar electricity, hot water and a bathroom with a bath and shower. The kitchen sink is outside. Due to the solar set up, it's necessary to limit electricity usage as much as possible when it's not sunny. It is rustic and remote, there are bugs but the cat helps the keep on top of the numbers. Access is by car and there is parking. A car is needed for your stay. The mountain tracks can get muddy in the rain. There is no WiFi since I use my mobile data. Due to the remote nature of the property, it's generally better suited for a couple or two people. There are free lakes and rivers in the area for swimming or a couple of swimming pools that you pay to access. There is a village cafe nearby for refreshments, the supermarkets are in Fundão. There is a lot of wildlife here. Vultures, Eagles and birds of prey often fly above the house. We have deer, wild boar, hare, lizards, butterflies, bees, wasps, big muntjac toads. The farm has plenty of fruit available, depending on the season. There's lots of wild edibles to forage throughout the year.

During our stay at Hannah's place we were very impressed with the behaviour of both of the dogs, Mungo and Zuni. The location was incredible, with sensational views and plenty of wonderful walking opportunities right at the doorstep, and interesting villages nearby, with plenty more to discover. We had a hire car and having a vehicle is strongly recommended. Thank you Hannah for the opportunity.

We had the most wonderful time at Hannah's place and enjoyed this off grid lifestyle. We are thankful that we could wake up daily surrounded in the silence of nature and be amazed by the beautiful sunrises. We couldn't wish for better company from Mungo, Zuni and Magica, they are quite the characters and super sweet + wellbehaved. We had a lot of fun taking care of them. Hannah is super easy going and she was very communicative and helpful throughout our stay. Thanks again for the lovely experience! <3

Hannah's place was idyllic, sitting in the mountains with a view over the valley you will not soon forget, I had a wonderful time and all the animals were really sweet, Zumi is adorable and gentle, Mungo is playful and always full of energy, the horses were lovely as well, and despite the long list of pets, they don't take up that much time taking care of them. There is plenty to explore in the area, lots of hiking trails around the mountain and local villages of historic Monsanto, Fundão was only 20mins away, Covilhã was really nice too and full of cool street art. Hanna was a great host and had everything very well set up already so taking care of all the animals was a breeze.
