October in San Miguel de Allende
Introduction
Hi - we're Clark and Amelia ... two retired ex-pats living in Mexico full time. We recently adopted Ginger from a local dog rescue organization. Having a pet sitter stay in our home will help Ginger feel secure in her new fur-ever home. (James Dean, our previous pup mentioned in the reviews, crossed the rainbow bridge earlier this year).

Come stay in our 3-bedroom house located in the quite private neighborhood of El Paraíso. Considered one of the most desirable locations in SMA because of the security and proximity to the beautiful historic Centro. Casa Baker has a beautiful front and back garden, a cozy outdoor seating area, a large screen TV, mini-splits throughout the house, and even a dog door. Our housekeeper and gardener each come twice a week. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, San Miguel de Allende has much to offer: History, architecture, dining, shopping, and art ... just to name a few.

Ginger is a sweet and easy pup. She needs one long walk in the morning (or 2 or 3 short walks throughout the day) and a walk around the block before bed. Ginger is fun and playful and loves to chase balls in the front yard. She gets fed twice a day and is fine being left alone for long periods of time. But when people are home, Ginger wants to be wherever you are. This includes the couch, where she likes to show off her world class cuddling skills.

We had a lovely time caring for James Dean. Amelia and Clark were fantastic hosts and really helped us to settle in and enjoy our time in San Miguel de Allende. JD is a joy to look after and we hope we can do so again in the future. Thanks again.

My husband and I absolutely loved our two weeks with James Dean and loved getting to know Amelia & Clark! We arrived a couple days early to review all the details (e.g. walking route, food, etc.) to care for James Dean which really helped. They even picked us up and dropped us off from the local bus terminal when we arrived and left. They also took us grocery store shopping and to the bank before they left. Amelia and Clark were súper knowledgeable and have us a tons of information about where to eat, shop, etc. and connected us with their local friend in San Miguel de Allende which we really appreciated. Their home was super clean, safe, and comfortable. They have the greatest housekeeper and gardener that both come twice a week so you as the sitter don’t need to worry about that. They have a security entrance to their complex and the security guards and neighbors were friendly. Amelia and Clark warned us about power outages and they had candles and extra water (to use for the restroom) ready for us to use. The power went out a couple times , which wasn’t a big deal, and the water and candles came in handy! And for the best part, James Dean. He is such a sweet dog. He doesn’t hear well so he loves to be wherever you are and wants to to be around everyone. He is a cuddler and we loved and welcomed it. Place a doggy bed near you if you plan to stay in an area for long and he will happily sit next to you. He loves his walks in the morning, which we tended to do before it got too hot out. Make sure he sees you leave before you head out to town or something because he loves to know where people are. All in all, a great stay with a great dog and amazing pet parents. Highly recommend and we would return again. Thank you Amelia and Clark for being wonderful pet parents and hosts!
